Re: January Contest: Ultimate X
Thank you Webman. Sounds like that would work. I understand the problems with more hands in a contest. I like the contests. Sometimes they are not my personal favorite games, but I am not the only person on the site and everyone has something they like. I can either chose to play or not. I appreciate the hard work that you people do on that end so that we have fun on this end!

Webman, the new server definately made a big difference in the site's performance during the contest. Over the weekend, when usage was high, for the most part, it was very smooth. A couple of Ctrl-R's were needed once in a while, but that was about it. Thanks for the improvements.

Thanks for the chance to play in a contest. What you play is often not your option. When I am in a Vegas slot tournament I have no choice but what is offered although I may not like it. The lure of 25k or so to the winner makes me play that game. I too was a bit frustrated by not hitting a big hand. Due to time constraints I think I only played 5 to 6 hands. I had a 4k, 6k,3k,cashed out once then a 26k hit on DDB. Made my day. It can happen. Don't they call it gambling!

As others here, I am not particularly fond of UX.
I didn't get my first Royal until 2 hours left in the contest, and then
only X1.
The wife was dealt a Royal though. Not enough to place though....
I actually like Dream Card. Seems that you get a lot of higher worth hands.

WAAAAHHH. I was clinging to 25th place, and a hat, with about 5 hours to go in the contest. Got bumped to 27th place, 255 points out of the money, by two late players with better scores. I think I should win SOMETHING for having the best score WITHOUT an RF in that session. As it is, I'm still shut out in contests !!!
Nice job with the contest, Webman. Maybe I'll get something next time..

Too each his own. I didn't see any positive comments about ultimate x in the contest chat on the side of my screen but I guess there is a silent majority out there. I think ultimate x would be a lot better with ten play as previously suggested and will give it another shot if that format is used.

how impressive that the person who won the contest ALSO finished in 41st place with an 8X royal to boot. now that's some luck!
If I QUADRUPLED my top score I would possibly have finished in 25th place.

Sorry, Billyjoe, that you lost out on getting your hat. If I had one I would send it to you.
Doris, it is pure luck.
