tipping
I was just curious as to how much you should or have tipped a slot attendant on a hand payout? example on a $1000 or a $1200 win what would you tip them

Good question, b74. Gold members discussed this topic under THE LOUNGE beginning Feb. 2, 2010. SEARCH at the top of this page is a handy feature to look up previous topics and posts. Login. Click on "Search", enter "tipping" OR "Badger28" (user name) and "last month" and "start search".The lower right gray arrow will pull up more posts on that topic.

It is entirely up to the individual however. On a $1K handpay, I usually give them $40 which won't even fill the tank on many cars, and thats $30 more than the pros suggest. You make the call.

I believe Dancer suggests 1% up to $4000 (or thereabouts) and .5% above that. Not surprisingly Fa la la suggests 0% tipping.

I usually give the attendant and the security guard about $20. If I have a great cocktail waitress I`ll give her $20 also.

Wow. I only give $5 on a handpay. I'm surprised they actually give me the money.

I usually give the slot attendant $20 on a $1K jackpot and $40-$60 on anything bigger. If they get sneaky and just pay me in $100's with the hope of getting a bigger tip, then they get nada.
If the beverage service has been good, then the waitress, waiter, or bartender will get $20 as well.

I think it really depends on the type of service provided. If they are friendly, helpful, funny, prompt and dont ask for a tip, I usually tip them at least $20.00. If they are not- then they get nada. I tip waiters and waitresses at least 25%, but really this is someone that just brings you your money and are not catering to you. Just my opinion.
