Is this a positive game (if I count comp dollars)?

Is this a positive game (if I count comp dollars)?

Post by Shiny »

I'm not good at #s, but I need to know if this is a positive game.  My casino has full pay JOB @ (99.54)

It takes $250 coin in to get $1 cash back:
1/250=.40
Comp dollars are earned @ 50 % of cash back:
.50.

So: 99.54 + .40 + .50= 100.44.

If I count the comp dollars, it's a positive game, right?  Did I mess up the math?  Not counting the lovely ladies that supply drinks to me while I play, ha-ha.  Thanks.

If comp dollars are 50% of cash back and cash back is 0.40%, I would think that the contribution of comp dollars would be 0.5 x 0.40% = 0.20%, so your total EV at perfect play would be 99.54% + 0.40% + 0.20% = 100.14%, still positive but lower than what you suggested.Just my guess based on what you wrote.

Does the casino have any promotions or point multipliers? If so, that might get the number up some more.

Unless you play for a living, Shiny, I doubt that you will play enough hands to worry about the math. Just enjoy yourself, and the drink girls.

The math is relevant for each and every hand. It is not a hit or miss proposition. However, I agree that we should all enjoy ourselves and that should be a primary motivation.
