Last $20 - Nice Return

Post by Lucky Larry »

Making a quick run to Lake Charles before Vegas next week and we only play $100 multi-hand 5¢ (10-15 hands). Twice down to under $15 and then a RF. Then down we would go!

So at midnight, I'm tired, frustrated, and ready to go up to the room. I'm so frustrated I cash out my last $21.70 instead of playing it. As we leave I have a premonition to play the Ultimate X located next to the MH. I rarely play it because it is so streaky!!!

Ticket in and playing triple play 2¢ DDB. My timing is good and I'm getting hits. Draw 2 Aces and hit AWAK with 2X multiplier for 8,000 and the other two hands hit for Aces. Cash out the $200 ticket. Cash it and put in another $20. Go to 5 hand 2¢ DDB. Draw 3 - 3's with Ace. I rarely hold the kicker but do and hit 3's WAK. Five hands later the machine deals me 3's. Two hit WAK. We cash out $300. Tired? Whose tired

We play another hour and go to the room happy.

A few years ago I was playing at the Tampa Hard Rock.  I had been playing DDB all morning with nothing great happening.  I was down to my last $5 which I always save to buy a soda for the long drive home.   As I walked out of the casino, I passed a row of video poker machines. I stuck in my $5 bill and selected the $1 denomination.  I felt like a real degenerate, but did it anyway.  I hit the draw button and hit 4 aces for $800.  I'd like to tell you I walked out of the casino with the $800, but stayed for a while.  I think I left with $500.  Those are the days that keep me playing...

I was down to my last five and was going to go play super double double bonus on a $ machine for last play for the night.  I was planning on hitting just a dollar a play but forgot and hit the max.  I was shocked to see a straight flush jump up!  Went home with more than I had come in with. NICE.

Love these end-of-the-day stories. It does seem to make a losing trip feel better when you at least hit on your last few $. Drats... why didn't I hit the big one earlier..

But, I do appreciate just getting the hit.

Two friends of mine went to Greektown in Detroit last Sunday morning. They each had lost some money in the games that they were playing; one guy plays baccarat, the other plays dollar slots.

As they were getting ready to leave the slot player is coaxed into tossing "one last hundred" in the machine and about 4 spins later he hits it for $10,800.00. Atleast one of them had a more comfortable drive back home that day.

Just tell him to leave $ for me next time at Greektown. Where we live the deer keep eating our flowers.

Just got back from junket to Beau Rivage. I lost my you know what at dollar poker but my wife hit the aces w/kicker for 1088.00 on her last few minutes before we had to leave. This was a quarter progressive in the back.

Welcome to forum, butchp! Gotta love those stories of hits at the end of a casino session. It's better to hit at the end than at the beginning because there is a better chance of leaving the casino with it!  (soIhaveheard)
