cd: Tell me you were kidding about those Christmas ornaments - too funny. I probably plagerized you w the coasters story. I forget how much mine cost, probably comparable to yours! It's called price setting in the trade. Perhaps your jacket was faux LEATHER? Treasure that Broncos football, you never know when another may surface! When I receive a gift tackier than the gift before, someone is likely to say something like "Those fishing lures they gave out last time were really GREAT! The best gift so far!" That would be the ones I did not bother to pick up.

I have seen all that stuff in Jean Scotts garage . At 4winds michigan The last one that I enjoyed was we each got a 750ml of tequila with 4 glasses. It works out to numb the pain of a rough session. Maybe if I up my bankroll, I can get some Jameson.

We have scores of things: mugs, glasses, the coasters you spoke of, juicers, waffle makers, quesadilla makers, dishes, serving trays, 2 leather jackets, 2 windbreakers, and the list goes on and on and on. We've stood in line for hours waiting for these thing, playing touch tag, my husband playing on the floor while I'm in line, then when I get my "free" gift, I play while he gets his. Most of these things as noted previously may be worth $20 or less at our local Target, while costing us much, much more! In fact, the offer states that if they run out, you may receive a raincheck, or $20 in free slot play. We must be crazy. But hey, we love to gamble!

AZ Barb, Welcome to forum and thanks for your contribution. I would rather receive $20 in free play than any bonus or gift I have seen to date! Casino powers that be, are you listening? brmcc74: I am curious as to what you were doing in Jean Scott's condo garage. 'Selecting something from her casino stash, perhaps? In Feb., I stopped at Motor City to pick up my tumblers with Motor City logo, a mailed b'day gift. The line at the Players Club was huge because they were handing out mailed offer Valentine candy boxes that day. You would not be proud of me the way I begged for a box of that candy. I mentioned I had received one the year before but no mailed offer this year. The clerk looked it up and said I was right, I did not receive a mailed offer. NOR did I receive a box that day. We had so enjoyed about ten double chocolate chip size morsels the year before. The next time my husband and I stopped at Motor City for their comped buffet, I learned our cards had expired and my comps had disappeared. I never knew they had a six month limit. Casinos in Vegas used to have an 18 month expiration date but I have no idea of their policy now. This caused me to reflect why I ceased playing at Motor City besides the obvious of little wins. When it rains, there are canals of stagnant water running the length of that parking structure at the location of the driver's side. There is no hope if one is wearing sandals. If wearing thicker soles as in tennis shoes, one might have a prayer to avoid a soaker if you can locate the more shallow areas in the semi darkness. I would like a word with the designer of that parking structure! We are more conscious of this water situation if taking others to the casino for the first time. With all due respect to Marian Ilich, owner of Motor City Casino, there have been extensive and impressive renovations in recent years at the casino. Her husband, Mike, owns Red Wings, Tigers, Fox Theater and Little Caesar Pizza. He is among the richest men in Michigan. Through some mambo jumbo legalese it was necessary for the casino to be in his wife's name.

Marie, frequently casinos are designed by high quality architects, but the parking garages are designed by engineers. Structural integrity is more important than anything else when building a structure that must hold thousands of heavy motor vehicles, many of which might be moving (vibrating) at the same time. But your point is very well-taken. Casino designers should spend more time improving the layout and convenience of their parking facilities. Too often it is simply an after-thought, an add-on after the building itself has been designed. The casino experience starts when the customer enters the parking facility, not the casino itself. On numerous occasions I have made a casino choice based on the convenience of parking.

That's the truth. On the subject of parking garages, there's one casino here that I rarely go to simply because their parking spaces are very narrow.

I always use valet. Couple of bucks in and out. I don't have to circle endlessly to find a spot nor have to walk a long ways. marie , I would never walk the Detroit garages. Too many evil doers around.

Thanks for your comments, rascal, cd and faygo. rascal, your words made me appreciate the strong construction of those parking structures and you sound like you are involved in engineering or construction. Cold, wet feet rarely hurts one very much! I am comfortable in parking structures but keep aware of who is around me. I mentioned recently carrying a whistle in hand when by myself in a parking structure and a couple gals thought it a great idea and planned to do likewise. Wearing a whistle around the neck is probably not a good idea. faygo, walking is good for us especially when there is a buffet involved. We have previously discussed pros and cons of valet parking on forum. I had a dent in a new car once, another time the gas gauge was considerably lower than I remembered it and yet another time, the seat too far back for me to drive and almost impossible for me to change that, after using valet parking. Once it took an incredibly long time for my car to arrive. Jean Scott once wrote that she does not use valet parking. I have stepped aside at elevators when I was not comfortable with the others that were boarding. Another mentioned recently doing that very thing as well. Talk about stereotyping and profiling! A few times I have almost attached myself to an older couple when walking to my car so I do not look so alone. They appear the safest to me for surrogate body guards. I am talking any city, state, country or casino area and not just metro Detroit.

I never valet park anymore after having had scratches and a theft, not to mention smoking tires and smirking valets. I park on a different floor than where I plan to enter a casino, and then I jog up the garage stairs, sometimes even going a few extra flights and then returning to my floor. I sort of fool myself into believing that this exercise will offset any second-hand smoke I might inhale in the casino, as well as offsetting any frustrations the machines might present to me. I have never had a security problem in a garage but I have heard of others having them. Be aware that with a simple request the eye in the sky or a guard will track you to your vehicle after a jackpot.

No I haven't been to the condo. I purchased her software package years back and it has a video intro at the beggining of the cd rom showing their collection of gifts. Lots of stuff in there indeed.
