rover,

The games of the pros are any games that give the player an advantage. 9/6 DDB at 98.98% return is not advantageous. However, in a game like Ultimate X, even with an 8/5 paytable, in the short term a nice hand with a multiplier is what a true "session-type" player should be looking for. Set your win/loss goals for a particular session and stick with it. Try 10-play UX nickles or dimes. The multipliers in 10-play DDB are better for 4oak and higher vs 3/5 play on this game. Remember, the key to UX is to try and load the screen with high multipliers and hopefully follow with a good deal. Keep in mind, that even in 10-play UX dimes, a dealt full house followed by a dealt royal results in $48,000 for a $10 wager. That may sound like a rare event and it is. But something not nearly as rare is a dealt flush or straight followed by dealt quads (non-bonus), which is a $2000-2500 pay out with the same terms.

Good luck.

So I tried Ultimate X this past weekend at Borgata.  Unfortunatly they only have 10 play nickles, so for me it can get a little boring.  I did find .25 but it was only 3 play and that for me is like watching paint dry.

It was a fun game, but boy oh boy it sure seems like they randomizer plays by a different set of rules for this game.    Lots of pairs, lots of 2 pairs, but not many 4 of a kind and not too many full houses (12x).

I did have one good hit which I think was 4 aces but on nickles it just doesn't do it for me.  I think I left the game doubling my money and came back again later and left again flat or a little down.

Will look for 10 play dimes when I visit Harrah's this weekend.  This past trip was a bit of a train wreck.  No big hits and I spread my money around pretty good.  Took my last hundred over the the $25 blackjack table and turned it into 300.  Then went to bed.  That was at least a good thing.

Hopefully some nice hits to post after this weekend's trip.

Went to Harrahs AC this weekend and had a really great trip.

Friday night brought me this:

And early on Sunday morning after getting a straight flush in 3 card poker I got this:

This was all very welcome and replaced the terrible showing that I had at the Borgata the week before.  Why is it that I lose at the Borgata, (consistantly), and seem to win at Harrah's (consistantly) playing the same games.

Now I did play some Ultimate X.  For some reason it didn't wow me that much.  If I remember correctly I turned 150 into 500 playing though so I guess there's nothing wrong with that.  No big hits on UX though.

I did find UX dimes at Harrah's AC.  They were over by the bar next to the lobby entrance.  Right outside the ladies room.  Caesars had them as well on the 2nd floor across from the Total Rewards desk by the players lounge.

I seem to be having a VP Renaissance of sorts.  I decided to take a quick Sunday night trip to Harrahs AC to clear my head and while sitting at the bar playing single line DDB I pulled 4 of a kind 3's with a kicker for 1600 coins.  I played it up to a thousand and got up (a novelty in my book).  I woke up the next morning with a little play left in me and went back down to the bar and hit this little diddy.  I sat there for a while with the four aces held wondering what it would be like to get the low kicker and when I finally had the guts to hit the button I was rewarded nicely. And I got up!!!

Having just a little play left in me I wondered over to my first love STP and low and behold the VP gods gave me this.  Amazing.  I held a flipp'n Jack and got a Royal!  This time I grabbed the ticket and ran from the machine.  All and all a very nice trip for all of 12 hours.
