Re: How to deal with beggars in a casino
marie,
In your situation, especially being the same guy. I would make sure security becomes involved. The guy could potentially be a real problem/criminal and the casino needs to track him. LLGood point, Larry. It occurred to me I could report him but I really did not feel threatened. No actual harm was done. By the time I found security, he would be long gone and it would interfere with my vp time. Good observation, Jim. I loved wading in the ocean next to the steel pier on a HOT day! Thanks for mentioning Caesar's Diamond Lounge previously! They were cutting up a whole salmon, YUM! (who hit the italics button for my post?)

mm,
Not recommended inside a public place such as a casino. In some jurisdictions you can be charged with a misdemeanor for falsely yelling the word "fire." I would recommend yelling " help."

Mule, Many thanks for setting me straight on that faux pas! YET if someone is flashing a gun or knife in my face, I hope the powers that be are not going to punish me for yelling the wrong word! I see the potential for causing a stampede by yelling "FIRE!"tweeettyy claimed on chat that she and others have used the call button to summon an employee where there has been a problem, trouble maker or undesirable in a casino in Vegas. Theoretically, it is a solid idea. BUT, have you ever timed how LOOOOONG it takes an employee to respond to that call button!!! HOWEVER, it might be effective to point out to the pest that the call light is on and "here comes an employee, now!" or "security is on it's way!"

I was at a casino in So Cal about 5 months ago and all the beggars were coming up to me. a woman came up to me a few times, first to comment about how much I had in the machine, then to what I did for a living, then for a light for her cigarette, then she finally asked for the money. I told her I was still down and she finally went away.
About 5 hours later, a "lady of the night" should we say came up to a machine a few over from mine starting playing and then was trying to get me to use her services. She finally got the clue when I keep staring straight at the machine and wouldn't acknowledge her and finally left.

I still suggest punching beggars in the face. Usually then they'll immediately leave, at least once they get up off the floor.

Damule, Aren't you the one who warned marie about not doing something for which she could be charged with a misdemeanor? Are you suggesting felonies instead?

marie, I think if I was Mr. Meijer, since you have a proclivity for attracting trouble, that I would either gamble on different days or play a minimum of 10 machines away.

Maybe that is why we are rarely in the same casino at the same time except to meet at diamond lounges. AND he can even talk his way into those now without me, with my extra card. He is quite the sneaky one!I learn from the pro!
