Four to the Royal or ?

  When dealt four to the royal or 3 AAA's how long do you hesitate before you hit the deal button? I usually hit it right away and wonder if I should hesitate a bit or not. I know it is random and think it probably does not matter or does it?I see a lot of posts on here about hitting and wonder how you all choose when to hit the button. Once in Vegas at the Hardrock I was on a first date with a girl that did not know about video poker and was dealt 4 to the royal and I paused and told her if I get the Jack I would win 1K on this .25 machine and that we would split the win. I hit the deal button and I hit the royal , what a great night!

It doesn't matter ... however, since the expectation is high before one draws it could be argued that enjoyment is increased by delaying.

I hit the button as soon as I say my little prayer.

I always double-check my holds, in case of a button stick (learned from experience ), then position my hand over the Draw button, close my eyes, and just listen for the music.

 Luck stayed with me that night  and continued for about two years.

When dealt 4 to the Royal, before hitting the draw I first call the attendant, pay off all of my credit cards, sign the paperwork for a new luxury car, and order a lavish steak and lobster dinner. Sometimes I upgrade my room to the penthouse suite before hitting the draw button. On occasion I have been known to call my broker and invest heavily in the latest trendy stock before hitting the button. Then, finally, I will hit the draw button and wake up....because the alarm clock is ringing and it's 7 a.m. Monday morning.

A pause and Reflect moment is in order.just to make sure you actually held the cards correctly.  But that moment of joy is going to be sweet one second or minute into the future...same sugar content.
