Dancers WinPoker--accurate?

Post by MarySB »

I have Dancers WinPoker and have been playing it for years. I initially bought it to learn proper strategy and now I play/use it for recreation and practice. I seem to always do very well over the long haul relative to win/loss with WinPoker. Much better than I do in the casinos with same games and paytables.  Question: Is his game(s) programed very close to what casino VP machines are programed. I recall the word "chip" keeps popping up whenever VP discussions take place. Obviously there is no chip in his program and I often wonder if WinPoker is "somewhat user friendly". Meaning WinPoker is programed to make the user think he is really doing well because of the program, when in reality WinPoker is giving the user better payback/EV than the casinos give. Any thoughts/
opinions/ knowledge as how close WinPoker is programed to the "real world"-casinos machines?

There is a winpoker forum where you can post this question. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/winpoker/As far as I know the game is completely random just like casino games. One difference is the RNG does not run all the time like it does in casino games. This should not make a difference.

Within the Options selection on WinPoker is a choice called AutoPlay.  Assuming that this option uses the same RNG as regular play, you could set WinPoker to run by itself automatically and check the results over more hands than you could play manually.

I've done autoplay numerous times and the return is correct. One thing to keep in mind is the RNG is seeded based on an algorithm that includes mouse position. I suppose it's possible that one could start out within a close proximity to a relative good set of hands multiple times. Since manual play is limited in time you might end up seeing better results (or worse) than one should.

I concur with your findings MarySB.  I run much better on Winpoker than I do on a live machine.  I play DW44 and almost never burn through 1000 coins on Winpoker, yet it is a pretty common occurrence when playing live.  I'm not sure why this is. But I do trust the strategy advice offered by Winpoker.  I use this software exclusively for practice and studying the highest EV plays.  For that, it does the job.  Not sure what to say if you're playing for entertainment purposes.
