More on Double Super Times Pay
Hi All --
I posted a question at the end of the last DSTP thread ... but I don't think anyone saw it so I'm reposting here.
This is a question for Webman -- or anyone who has seen this happen themselves ... in Double Super Times Pay ... what happens on screen when someone gets that multiplier on the deal with the dealt royal? Are there extra animations for the first multiplier changing to 10x (assuming it already isn't) and a 2nd 10x multiplier flying out to add to it to make it 20x ... or some other animation like that? Some interesting new music or sound effects? Or ... is it all just so instant and the player won't know what hit them until the credits start counting up?
So on *that* note -- I noticed on the current Double Super Times Pay contest that one of the players on the leaderboard ... Kuuipo01 ... got a 5x multiplier on the deal with a dealt Royal Flush but only received 60,000 credits for the hit instead of 240,000. What happened there?
Anyway -- just curious!
Thanks!

Animation-wise, I believe you see the standard multiplier animation, it slides across, then turns into a 20x when the final card for the dealt royal flush is revealed. Nothing too crazy.I'll check out the contest score to see what you mean.

Yeah, it would be informative if we got an explanation that explained the results as being consistent with the rules that are stated...or perhaps the programming is a bit off. I think Webman's 2nd thoughts on the matter were stated in that previous thread below:
My understanding of this has changed as well, but only for the draw multiplier. If
a multiplier comes on the deal with the dealt royal flush, you will
indeed get 20x (10x+10x), but if the deal multiplier is not present, you
then have another chance at a multiplier on the draw after the royal
flush cards are held (automatically), which would have normal odds (1 in
15 and average of 4.01).Edit: I think that's exactly what you said.I would interpret this and the words on the help screen to say that the dealt multiplier for the player you cited in the Atlantis contest should have triggered a 20x multiplier and not be recorded as a 5x multiplier. The September DSTP contest had some unlikely results according to that interpretation as well. There were 7 multipliers with the dealt royals and ALL of them were evidently dealt rather than draw multipliers, but the odds of that were calculated by me to be about 600 to 1. Again, some programming might not have been consistent with those rules.Webman, Any more word on exactly how this works? Does the programming have to be changed to be consistent with the words or are we reading them wrong?Edit: Sorry, Webman, I didn't see that you had already posted while I was making a reply to IceTre.

I'm waiting to hear back from our lead game developer who will look at the code, but my guess is that it's simply an error on the "best hand" display screen that we show when you click on someone's score. I think it was likely a multiplier on the DRAW rather than the deal, and would thus not become a 20x.Because of the odd nature in which multipliers appear during dealt royals in this game, and the fact that a royal flush is auto-held, a draw multiplier will actually show on the screen before the deal completes, just as a deal multiplier does. Because of this sequencing, all multipliers for a dealt royal may show in the best hands as a "deal" multiplier, even though they may actually be a "draw" multiplier when it comes to determining the 20x qualification.

We looked at the code and this session's data and confirmed, my suspicions were correct. The game is handling the 20x multipliers correctly for the contest scoring, and the multiplier in question was in fact a DRAW multiplier, thus not qualifying for the 20x bonus. In determining whether a multiplier is a 20x, deal and draw multipliers are both considered independently, with the 20x being activated for the deal multiplier only. However, as far as the "best hand" recall is concerned, all multipliers display as "deal" multipliers for dealt royals simply because of the sequencing and autohold. There really is nothing apparent to the user as this happens either, other than a 20x either being awarded or not awarded, as all multipliers for dealt royals are revealed prior to the final hand being displayed. So, the scoring is accurate which was our primary concern to verify in looking into this. In reading the results, simply interpret that if it is a 20x, then the deal multiplier was activated, and if it is not 20x for a dealt royal, then it was technically a "draw" multiplier that was awarded. We may amend this hand display in a future update to avoid confusion.

Ah OK -- thanks for the clarification.
