1) For .25 VP every $100 added to a progressive adds .2% to the return. So, at $1300 you'd have an additional .6% added to the base game for 8/5 DDB of 96.8%. 2) A low pair (5-T) is worth about 1.25 coins more than a single ace every time you make the play. 3) You can have quads back to back or thousands of hands apart. Hitting one does not change the odds of hitting another one.

I will add that, in the case of you believing that you would have caught something if you held different cards, the RNG on the modern VP machines is always running, so unless you had hit the deal button at the exact same millisecond, the cards you receive on the draw would have been different. That said, never bemoan what you get versus what you had, because what your getting on the draw is always changing.

In almost all cases the average return of holding 3 for a RF is better than holding 4 for a flush. As far as I know it is true in all versions of DDB and TDB. The 1.25 coin advantage (about 31 cents) of holding the low pair is an average across all possible draws. This is figured out by computing all the possible winning hands for each hold, adding them together and dividing by the number of possible draws.  Let me know if you still have questions.

I was wrong when I stated in all versions of TDB it was correct to hold the 3RF. The key is the payback of the flush. In games where the flush pays back 7 or more (like 9-7 TDB) it is usually correct (except for TJQ) to hold the 4 to a flush. In games where the flush pays back 6 or less it is correct to hold the 3RF.

Folks...first I apologize for being brand new to this forum but I need help.  I am also brand new to video poker.  I need help there most of all.  I am beginning my video poker carrer now and need some advice.  I am thoroughly confused by all of the accronyms...40AK, TDB, 9/5, 9/6.  Can someone point me in the right direction to get started?  Thanks!

4OAK or 4 tree=4 Of A Kind
tdb-triple double bonus
9/5 is for the payout-look at the paytable if you get 9 coins for a fullhouse etc ...
