Politics,Religion,Race and Sexual Slurs
I know I'm probably opening a whole can of worms here, but last night on the chat when the news of Bin Ladens death was announced, there was alot of comments made as it was a very emotional topic for all Americans. I do believe you have a right to express your opinions, but I do think discussion s on race, politics, religion, or sexual choice do not have a place on chat. There are all kinds of blogs and comment pages to post your private views on line, I like to chat to have fun and talk about vp. I don't care if you like or agree with the president or his policies, or dislike him, respect the office if not the man. For heavens sake, thank the brave soldiers who made this possible , to give the families of 9/11 and all Americans some closure. Just remember not everyone who reads your comments on chat may agree with your thinking or comments on the above mentioned topics. Or post it here on anything and everything. Ithink we need to be respectful of everyone on chat and realize your views and theirs might be worlds apart.
i know about the free speech aspect of this, but there is also the need for common sense and decency, I know there will be plenty of people who don't agree with me, drop me a PM or post here.To all have a great day, and good luck in the contest that starts later today! Respectfully, Katipug

The office would have no respect, except that some of the past Presidents were actuallypeople worthy of respect, not POLITICIANS. The presidents of today are crap, and not worthy of capitalization.

Kati
Thank you! I agree with completely! I was on last night and had to turn chat off because of the political and angry comments.
I have never chatted, but do "lurk" . I feel like I know the regulars and enjoy the chat while playing video poker on this great site. Often times I laugh at the antics or comments, and worry when some are having hard times. I turn off chat when it gets silly, or too much for me, as it did last night.
As a retired Government teacher that spent years teaching young people about Civics and being a good citizen, it breaks my heart when so many, reguardless of political affiliation, are disrespectfull and inconsiderate of others.
Again thank you, for your thoughtful and intelligent comments.
