10 Hand Deuces Wild

Post by billwigglestick »

What is a good betting strategy for 10 hand deuces wild?  Should you quit when you are X dollars ahead, when you hit 5 deuces or wait until you hit the royal without deuces?

Here are some thoughts:

1.  If you quit when you are X ahead, you forego any chance of winning more.

2.  How do you get 5 deuces?

3.  If you quit after hitting a royal, you will never get a second one.

4.  What do you mean by quit?  Quit for an hour, a day, a week, a month, forever?

Sorry I didn't word my question well.  I meant to ask about 10 hand bonus deuces wild and should have said 4 deuces.  Your comments are appreciated.

There is no right answer to your question. It's all up to your own preferences. The fact that it is 10-play is not really that meaningful to your question. It just means you get to a decision point sooner than if you were playing single line or 3/5 play.

Thanks shadowman.  I like 10 play because once in a while I've hit a royal which I've never done on single play video poker.

The two hardest VP decisions we generally face: 1) quitting while ahead and 2) stopping when down but not out.

I don't find the concept of stopping difficult at all.

When I sit down to play, usually my intention  is to play for two to two and a half hours, and then , take a break.  If  I'm ahead at that time - great;  if  I'm not - not so great.

But, whether I'm up or down at that time, I do take a break.
