If anyone ever figures out how to quit playing when they're ahead, please let all of us know. For me It is simple. If I'm playing a progressive, I play until someone either hits the jackpot or my relief gets there. Shifts are rigidly scheduled in advance. With progressives there is very little personal choice involved in when you go and when you stay...and it never has anything to do with your results. With non-progressives it is a little harder. I believe the best suggestion is to make something else other than winning or losing your goal. Play until you get to a certain amount of points. Play during a promotion and stop when it's over. Play for a certain period of time and leave when the time you had scheduled is used up, etc...Since there is a random element involved in all gambling, you cannot base a choice on the outcome of something that is inconsistent and expect consistent results. If you wish your choice on whether or not to leave a casino to be consistent, base it on something that is predictable like your watch. How much you are up or down in a single visit should not be concerning you anyway. The only result that matters is your total lifetime gambling earnings. Include all your results in how you are doing and stop resetting the counter each day, perhaps this will make it easier to leave. If you think of it as one continuous session, it won't feel like you are ending the session. In reality you aren't.I hope that helps.~FK

My quitting time is fairly simple, and Im usually not ahead when it comes. I start dozing off like one would do when tired while driving.

My quitting time is fairly simple, and Im usually not ahead when it comes. I start dozing off like one would do when tired while driving. This is distressing to hear. If as you say, gambling is a fun pastime for you, you should not do it until the point of fatigue. It is not healthy. It's perfectly fine in life to push oneself a little when it is important or warranted. A recreational hobby should never rise to the level of "warranted" for the level of physical exhaustion you stated. That can only be a waring sign you would be foolish to ignore. This is not good backsider. I'm concerned about you again. Please be well. This is fire you are playing with, not everyone can walk through it unscathed.~FK

Im starting to understand you a lot better Frank and you use words effectively because they ring true. Im a member of 2 other forums although I rarely post anywhere but here, and ive been reading the hot topics youre involved with. On vpfree its about the Palms and I dont think Im qualified to talk about bunnies and mail order brides, and not many others are either I see. On lva its a lot wilder and I see youre going to look over the details behind RS. Good for you. You dont mince words and are a fair guy, only it took me some time to see that here. Its the mudslingers who throw us all off and over there its a character called achimedes, but today hes getting scolded and spanked and we hope hell just sit in the corner as you implied until you complete what youre doing. Even so, you do seem like a person who can see through peoples lies and misrepresentations with an even hand. I cant say why I stay at a machine until my heads bobs up and down but I know thats not healthy. Now I have a reason to quit that nonsense. Thanks.

The whole RS thing is totally bizarre for me. Here on this forum I have gotten along with shadowman very well. He's a math guy like me, and as far as I know we have always agreed. I expect that to continue. Math after all is math. I'm not defending RS. I'm just making an appeal for a temporary cessation of hostilities.I was asked to look into the RS issue and so I will, because I was asked. Not because I want to.Personally, I have no need to look into competitive systems. The methodology my team and I have been using for 23 years is working just fine....thank you very much!I really wish I had not been asked to do this. For me it's a no win scenario. I hope everyone realizes how unconfortable this whole thing is for me.That why I'm hoping to keep the negative chatter down long enough for me to work on this impartially. It's very hard to stay neutral in the middle of dead man's land between the trench lines.Oh, and thank you for your kind words.~FK
