Casinos in Denver CO area
Hi,
Anyone know about the casinos in the Denver area (Denver and West of there)?
I'll be in Beaver Creek next week and thought a side trip might be worth it if they sound OK. I heard a few in Blackhawk are nice. Thanks for any info.

P.S. What is the comp drink policy in Colorado? Not that i'm an alkie or anything.

Baldie..Central City and Blackhawk are next to each other, but about 90 miles one way from Vail going East.About 25 miles from Denver. There is a turn off of I-70 to Central City, although it is a 2 lane road (or used to be). We lived in Vail from 1974 - 1978 and loved it, then it just got too big and like Aspen, it is a MONEY town. Beaver Creek did not exit, and Avon was just a trailer park with a gas station-market, but it was GREAT. If you want a great side trip (although no gambling), take the Dowd Junction turn off to Minturn, then up to Leadville. We loved going up there. Have fun.

Hey, BaldieBlackhawk has several great casinos. Ameristar is the biggest with (I'm guessing) 2000 slots including lots of video poker. Great hotel, too. Isle of Capri is pretty nice. There is a Fitzgerald's and several smaller casinos. Central City is one mile up the road and has several small casinos in old gold mining town setting. Many of the buildings are from the 1800's.Either town you can walk to all casinos. It's really a pretty location. Some casinos even have a few machines that accept coins!Drinks are free if you are playing.Bob
