another casino cries uncle

The golden nugget in laughlin no longer allows you to play quarters on any allstar poker machine, you can still play nickles and dimes. The change accured on july 5. I talked with one of the slot techs and he said the orders came from the home office in vegas. In my opinion if you read between the lines they must have took some big hits and could not take the pressure. This looks like a win for all the multiline players to me. Any and all opinions are welcome.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm curious were the All-Star machines being played all the time? If not, they may have lowered the denomination to increase play or match competitors. Most of the time I've seen the pay tables lowered not the denomination. However; I have seen one or two times were the denomination was changed to meet clientele needs/wants. L'Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles added 3 Spin Poker Machines with $1/$2 denomination for a group of high rollers who wanted to play Spin.

It was interesting watching them play $90/hand Spin. Of course every decent hit was a "G pay-out". While playing single hand $1 VP we watched one player next to us hit a Royal $8K on the first machine in the row; he simply moved to the next machine while waiting for his pay out. Put in $1000 and began play. Before his first pay out arrived he hit a RF again.

I congratulated him on his great hits, he stated he had been down $11K before the hits. He said he was still OK since earlier he had gone down $20K and then was dealt 4 Aces w/Kicker center line TDB for $72K .

Only in my dreams.      Sweet C can you fund me enough from your 401 K to give me $100,000 so I can play SpinPoker. You can watch and I'll pay you back with interest if I win....

I agree with Larry. Lowering playing denominations is usually a sign that the machines are not getting enough play at the higher denominations. The reaction of a casino to big, hurting hits is to yank the machines out. I saw this in Horseshoe Hammond. They had a bank of 4 Wheel Poker machines with $.25/$.50/$1 denoms, and TDB. I live in Florida, but have relatives nearby. On one visit, I walked away with several grand. The next time I went up there, THEY WERE ALL GONE.   I asked why, and they told me, too many wins.

I was dealt a RF on $2 Spin and then moved to the high limit area and played a 5 play $5 machines and was incredibly dealt another Royal in hearts for $100 K. Then I woke up and realized I had to go to the bathroom. But, it was a great dream.

kjohn,

You really need to have your "nightmares" checked out, they probably represent some deep seated fears. I suggest next month when you go to Vegas to seek professional help. I know several good places and can get you a referral. Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch are both highly recommended.

I know what your saying, but in this case you could already play nickles, dimes or quarters on these before they changed them. If nobody was playing the quarters why go to the trouble of taking them away?

I also noticed something strange at the aquareus in laughlin.
They have a bank of 6 allstar machines on the main floor. You can play ten handed on every game on the machine except chase the royal, it will only go to 3 hands. That has to make you think somethings up with that game.

Lucky Larry      Do you think those high rollers knew that spin poker is really a slot?
