What's Your Best Guesstomate.....
In the question I am about to ask I know there are numerous varations to consider. However, let's make a best educated guess based on whatever varations/ parameters/circumstances you decide to include in your answer to the question.
There has been no less than a thousand discussions on "how often can I expect to hit a RF" Well---my question is how often can you expect a "full pay VP machine in a high traffic area to hit a RF".... No? I do not mean in how many deals/plays/coins-in. Over a period of a years time time how many RF would you expect this machine to hit?
You make your decision based on whatever infomation you decide to apply....i.e hands played per hour/number of hours played per day (week/month/year)/frequency of RF's./ etc.
The reason I ask this question is that I was thinking (yes that may be dangerous) about the last couple of RF's I had and had a thought "wonder how many RF those machines would put out over a years time frame. Obviously it would be between zero and some other number. So I thought it would be interesting to see what answers would be thrown out.
Come on! Man Up! Throw out a number. It will interesting to see what others have to say.

Assuming single line... it happens every 40,000 or so.
Tell me how many hands get played on a high traffic machine and it won't be hard to guesstimate.
But since I am forced to guess, I'll say that a high traffic machine gets maybe an average of 100 hands per hour played on it in a 24 hour period (since even high traffic machines slow down at night and have slow players frequently).
24 x 365 = 8,760 hours per year.
8,760 hours x 100 = 876,000 hands played per year.
That would be about 22 royal flushes per machine in a year on average, with individual machines giving (big guess here) between 16 and 28.
I'm probably low on that guess. It's very hard to know without better totals on the amount of play a machine gets.

I'm pretty sure we're talking class III and not VLT's. My rough guess is 50

Since not everyone bangs out 6-800 hands per hour. I was using 300 as an avg with one off hour. that at 365 per calendar year.
