Re: Cry and Laugh
You're absolutely correct. It's the murphy's law of video poker, I believe. I can also point you to the machine that will hit next - it's the one I just kicked and walked away from. I do hope to meet up with Kjohn. It will be easy to tell it's me. I'll be the person wearing my "I love VIDEOPOKER.COM" t-shirt proudly. I would love to meet you - the very lucky "Lucky Larry". Of course I have a secret agenda - I want to see if some of your luck can be rubbed off.....with a handshake. I wish everyone, everywhere, the best of luck.

mightwin,
My envy is that you live in Vegas and have access to such high pay machines. A big part of my luck, I believe is the games I play. I tend to play low volatility games like JOB, Bonus, and NSUD. My goal is to stay in long enough to catch the elusive RF and these games usually keep me around longer. I tend to stay away from DDB & TDB - both - which Sweet C prefers. As I point out to her, my Bonus RF pays the same as her DDB RF. So far this year I am up 13 RF to 9 but she has 28 AWAK.
On the other hand, I can't argue with luck. This year has been incredible....I been dealt 2 RF on multi-hand games, 4 Aces on the first hand of the night on 3 hand Super Aces (which I rarely play), 4 Aces on 5 hand DDB twice. I also believe in premonitions. The Super Aces hand was based on a premonition. The machine was set on SA when I sat down at it and a premonition told me to play it. I can't tell you how many times a premonition has had me switch to a winning hand. Of course, it screws me up probably just as many times but hey I remember the winners.
Best luck to you and everyone else. Skill + Luck = Great hits!

I remember those pictures of the dealt royals. I stared at those for a while, and might have actually growled at my screen. I do remember congratulating you then. Boy were those pretty. At that point, I had not gotten a dealt royal yet. I'll admit I was jealous, I'm only human. My first dealt royal was at Manadalay Bay. I was looking somewhere else, and heard the jackpot music. I growled then too, thinking someone else, and looked at my screen - it was me. Being dealt makes it even more exciting. What should have been my most profitable royal, wasn't. I was too cheap/stupid to max bet. It was a $5 machine. I had just hit 4 aces on the machine next to it, moved one over - played 2 coins and got the royal. A voice in my head whispered bet max - wish it would have screamed. Still, I was happy with the $2500 (that I didn't have 10 seconds before), but $22,000 would have been much nicer. Luck is very much part of the winning formula. I think skill takes a backseat on those days that the player's sizzling. I have had a few days that no matter what I play, I win. Of course I've had weeks that I can't seem to hit anything. Another thought - instead of slogan what happens in vegas, stays in vegas - I think they should use "envy" and "NV" with a play on words. I would hope if a person wins a fortune, it doesn't stay here....unless it's a resident. Much luck to all.

Don't forget the sunscreen, Kjohn. What time of day? I don't think I can take 24 hours wondering the aisles. Morning, noon-ish, afternoon, night? I usually go in the afternoon. You're not nuts. When I used to vacation with my Mom - she made me go to bed early because she wanted to hit the highway around 5 a.m. I don't remember any trip when I actually got a good night's sleep the night before.

Kjohn - you'll never catch me, sweetheart. Especially if you're looking for a guy.... Look for a red or black videopoker.com shirt (whichever I find first) on a woman with long blonde hair. I'm in my late 40's. I'll try to get there in the morning hours before 11:30 - would that work?
