POLL: When you're dealt Four of a Kind . . .
. . . while playing Jacks or Better (nothing Wild, no kickers), do you:A. hold only the Four of a Kind?B. hold all 5 cards because you can't improve on it?Force of habit makes me do A. How about YOU? And why?

I never play much jacks or better, but say it's DDB or something... I hold only the 4 of a kind even if there is no kicker possible.

I hold the four only even on JOB, so I don't accidently freeze myself out of a kicker when playing DDB.

If i'm playing a game without kickers I hold all the cards to prevent mistakenly holding the wrong 4cards!

JoB dealt quads can't be improved upon. Why the heck wouldn't you hold the five and get your play in? I've played more "bonus" games than standard JoB but have played it often when a positive paytable is there. I look for the best possible play before putting money in.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do I prefer...umm...Oops wrong forum.
I don't play JOB, but I do play DDB and TDB. When dealt bonus quads with a kicker, I dump the kicker and try to pull another one to make it more interesting.
Obviously I'm kidding...I always hold all five cards when dealt a quad unless dealt a bonus quad where a kicker will improve the hand. No reason to re-draw a card or cards when a hand cannot be improved upon.

Another vote for option A. I generally just hold the quad out of habit of playing games with a kicker. Maybe I just like seeing the quad twice....

Since I play a game that includes 5 of a kind, I always hold only the quad. Many times I've drawn a wild card. Like others this carries over to the times I play other games where the quad cannot be improved.

Keep 4, toss 1. It's less work, more efficient, and faster.
