Hopefully I'll see you at the meet and greet again.  That was a fun time.   Maybe we should start asking when and where the meet will be this year.  Webman - any plans yet?

Gosh I've never thought about it. I focus on playing correct strategy and pay no attention whatsoever to my daily results. I'd be hard pressed to tell you any result I've had more recent than today or yesterday without looking in my records. Most of the time when I'm playing, I'm talking to someone, day dreaming, or singing. When I can get two machines, I never see what comes in on the draw, and so have little to no idea what I have or haven't hit during a shift (so why never comes into it). If I can't get two machines, I occasionally read while playing to pass the boredom. The only entertaining part of playing video poker for me is getting off work.Don't forget you asked.~FK

Don't know about vp, but was playing a dollar triple diamond slot at the old Casino Magic in Biloxi Ms. before Katrina. Had spent all my money and was after my husband to give me his last hundred, he said no way and statred down the ecsalator. I was chasing him literally sick to my stomach, I just knew machine was going to hit. He finally relented gave me money ran back upstairs no one had sat down, put money in and hit triple triple red seven for $1800 after $40 in. Truly just had gut feeling.   Wish I could do it now....sigh   Katipug

Congratulations Katipug - that must have surprised your husband.  Hope you said - I told you so (just kidding). Every once in a while I'll get that feeling and head towards a certain slot machine.  The most memorable times are when I head towards the machine, and someone gets there two feet in front of me.  Damn.  I'm human, of course I was mad when the girl won 23-grand her first spin.  It might not have hit for me, but I didn't think of that. Frank - it must be hard to read while playing - doesn't the interuptions of looking up every other second to see which cards to hold make it hard to comprehend?  I'm asking. ANY royal is exciting.  Even the higher paying hands have that affect, my heart races, my mouth's open, I let the credits add up at the game's normal pace - so I can bask in the winning moment that much longer.  For years I thought a dealt royal was a myth.  I drooled over the pictures up here, even commented (and admitted jealousy) with my congratulations.  My first dealt royal, I wasn't even looking at the screen - after growling when I heard the jackpot song, I looked at my screen and it was me.  Surprise!  I will say that is even more exciting. Years ago, when the coins still piled up in the tray - someone said if they were hot to the touch, the machine was ready to pay.  I have yet to feel a warm TITO. Happy day to all, and royals for everybody.

Frank, I would have to see you reading when playing. Certainly, but it would have to be at a casino where there is no heat and I don't have to worry about attracting attention, like the Palms. And there they let me play two machines, so I don't  normally ever read since both hands are occupied. As you you might imagine reading while playing attracts all the wrong kind of attention. It's impossible to get away with it, without causing a stir.I discovered purely by accident that I could do this. I would chalk it up as a "stupid human trick" like being double jointed or being able to lick your elbows. I have no idea how rare the ability is or how hard it would be for other people to do. I do know that it is not a praticulary useful ability and pretty much just causes problems and gets you noticed. Please get a hold of me next time you visit Vegas. I actually have several things I'd like to do with you. I wanted you to meet a couple of my partners and take you to lunch. From all your posts I have deduced that your exposure to "real" VP pros has been limited. When you get to meet "the boys" I think you'll be surprised on many levels. Keep in mind these are folks that have not written books and do not post on forums and aren't even members. The percentage of people in my branch of pro gambling that post is very close to 2%. This means 98% of the people doing what I have been doing for the last 23 years, you have never heard of and never will.Look forward to your visit.

I would have thought it was hard myself before I accidentally stumbled upon the ability. But no it's not that hard for me. It knocks about 10% off my one machine speed and slightly reduces my reading retention, but it's really not that difficult. My guess is it's one of those thing a person can just do if their brains are configured a certain way. It's certainly not anything you'd want to try to train.Oh I suppose this is funny. The scenario where I'm in a casino with no heat but can't get two machines comes up very rarely, the last time it happened the book I was reading happened to be, "Treating Gambling Problems" by William McCown. I got a few odd comments about that I can assure you. Also, I do not find hitting Royals or Jackpots to be anymore exciting than picking up a paycheck on Friday. Of course playing partnered with several other people at all times greatly reduces how much a Royal means to me and how much losses effect me as well. I can honestly say that hitting or not hitting a big jackpot personally makes very little difference to my results when you factor that my action only accounts for 16.66% of my actual result. One exciting thing to me is finding good plays. Of course this excitement occurs in advance of playing and is irrespective of results.~FK

For us mere mortals - royals are exciting.  I even get extra happy on a wild royal.   Royal flushes are rare.  Most people remember their first one with joy and excitment.

I'm just as mortal and flawed as all the rest of us. Probably more so. I just get excited at different things. It does not make me special and I take no pride in it. I wish I did find it more exciting, then I'd get bored less.

Sorry for the snappy reply.  Please take this as a formal apology. I just felt like you were raining on a parade, taking candy away, wind out of sails.   Stupid me started this with no opinion is wrong - please forgive me.
