Re: Random Numbers
I believe what has been said is true about the RNG in VP machines, but not so in a slot machine. A higher denomination slot machine will typically have more 'winning combinations' built into the program than a lower denomination slot of the same type.
Also, I would NEVER tempt the VP Gods by playing less than max credits on a hand - it is a sure way to be dealt something great. Yes I was referring to VP. I can tell you with absulute certainty that the paybacks of seemingly identical slots can vary between denominations. It is worth noting that this is because they have more of less symbols on their virtual reels.Their RNG's are still the same.If they generate a number between 1-128 the chance of a 1 coming up is still 1 in 128. It simply might not be a Seven anymore when you alter denom.~FK

I tend to agree with all of you. Guess I’ll just stick to max bets and my lucky chicken bones

I also think the hands are completely random. I had the same experience as Doris13 did. Went to new community casino in Ocean City Maryland and sat down and my first hand of TDB quarters was 4 aces with kicker. Very next hand was a Royal. Wow. Sometimes though when playing and I have one credit left, it does seem to hit several times as I play that last coin as opposed to what the machine was paying while playing max. Just seems that way.If I'm playing off the change at the end of a session in a multi-line machine or Ultimate X or the like, it often seems it's really hard to "get rid of" that last coin or two... [/QUOTE]Don't do it! Just press coin out. A couple of trips ago I had one coin left on a multi-line TDB machine. I got 4 threes with a kicker for 100 coins. I now have a pocketful of small amount of TITOs that I cart around from small coin out.

The machine does not care if you're playing pennies or $20 dollars. The cards are random but not truly random. A percentage of payback is programmed in. Otherwise, it would almost be impossible to hit a Royal or 4 aces with a kicker.

I don't understand why you would say this. Nothing is "programmed in" as that is illegal in most states.
Even though certain jackpots are unlikely that doesn't mean there are impossible. The reason they pay more is because they are unlikely, and, the actual frequency in known when the pay tables are set up. This is why the payback is a known value.

Welcome to the forum Jim. Having been dealt 4 Aces/Super Aces on the first hand of the night I generally play max coin at least when starting out.
There are times when I will play less than max - generally to stay in longer when my "timing" is really bad and I'm not hitting the RNG for winning hands. Can it hurt? Yeah, but the RF is the only hand that hurts. I know many successful multi-hand players who play @1 coin. We've had several discussions on this topic and even Bob Dancer has had several articles both ways.
Generally, though I recommend lowering the denomination to play max but even @ 1 - a 100 coin hit is 100 more than you had and I've rebuilt my pot many times enough to go back to max play.

Something I wholeheartedly agree with and thank you for saying it like it is. We just dont know, but its as good a guess as any, and the notion that it cant be happening because its "ilegal" for fear that the casino will be shut down by the state that grabs huge tax dollars from the places is burnt pie in the sky thinking.

It never ceases to amaze me that people that believe they are being cheated by the Casinos continue to frequent them.

That depends. We play DDB on machines where the RF, AWAK, Aces, 2,3,4wk and 2,3,4 are all progressives. Though rare, have seen AWAK higher then a royal. We never play less than max.
