Re: The Impossible Question
For me, there is not necessarily a day but a session or more. If I were to take $200 and lose it , then that session ended and I would have to get more $ to start a new one. The (up +700) at the time where I need to leave would just be added to the total vp life ledger to keep track of win/loss. Gambling is funny how you can win so much at times that its unbelievable, and then back to reality you cant split a dime.
So you define and partition a session not by increment of time, calendar date or sleep pasterns, but by a fixed session bankroll. But then you add the desperate sessions into a running total.
Just asking, but if you keep a running life log, why break your play into $200 sessions?
I have heard of people who do one or the other, but not both.
$200 is not a rule for me. I got that off one of your first sentences about a $200 loss. It works with any amount that Im willing to lose. When we go to Vegas, we try to budget for that trip but its hard to stick to it if you have several bad sessions.

My husband wouldn't even ask. Anytime I am in the hotel room other than asleep for the night means I am not doing well!

I'm up $400 today honeybee.
Because -400+100+700=400, and today is the scope of time since the previous midnight until the next midnight.
No obfuscation here, just a factual and accurate answer.

Your answer is ^even". Then if you feel like going into detail (whwich to me would be exhausting) you can explain the details. The bottom line at the end of the day is profit only. Your question sparked for me how many friends who ask if I won. I will admit to wnning or losing but never to the amount. Wish ppl would stop asking the question.

Farc, You touched upon a good related topic there re: friends asking how you did on a trip. I too just say I won or lost, although it pains me to have to respond at all to the non-gambling tribe

Frank,
The answer is simple for us....Do you need some more money? or How are doing on money? or sometimes...Can I borrow some money? Depending on which one of us is winning or losing...sometimes we are both winning so then the question isn't asked...
Maybe we're carrying the Texas is a community state too far.
