Re: My Trip to Red Rock Las Vegas
Oh everyone that thought my post in this thread was inappropriate because the poster is new to the forum and I had no information that they might have gambling issue was 100% correct to chastise me. I should just have congratulated them and waited to get to know them better before offering more serious advice (if any). I'll do this in the future.I just bumped into an old friend that developed gambling addiction issues because of trying to follow my lead, yesterday during TG, and it was fresh in my mind. It's not an excuse just an explanation.I am sorry and I'll try to do better.Sincerely,Frank KneelandFrank, I hope I am not showing you signs of concern for me being schizophrenic since I criticized your earlier post in this thread, but I really want to also give you plaudits, both for what you wrote here and in your book.I have seen lots of other authors put in the number of a gambling hotline, presumably for a reader to call if they thought they had a problem. And you see such on some casino advertisements. In many of those cases, it really looks to me a bit like the required label on cigarettes and that the real purpose for the "warning" is only to satisfy a legal department that is hoping to use it as a way to defend themselves when they get the inevitable lawsuit naming them as a defendant.I must admit that I really was totally uninterested in that portion of your book and not too interested in your posts about the subject matter. BUT, I sense that you are really, really sincere about wanting to help others and I do not see any other ulterior self-serving motive for doing so. I would not have criticized here if this thread was not started by a brand new poster (and probably not even then if you had not included the 1 in 23.5 figures). So, I do also think that commendations and clapping icons are in order for you, at least for where your heart appears to be!Edit: Damn, I did it again. I wrote this before seeing your last post, but it doesn't look like I need to change anything as a result of it. Have a nice rest of the holiday weekend!

Gee, I thought this thread was at least a tiny bit contentious, though it seems to have settled down without too much fuss. I just viewed the "Thanksgiving Thoughts" thread....and I think I would be much better off steering clear of that one!

Edit: On an unrelated side issue, congratulations on your big game/spin in the current monthly contest! Hope the score holds up for you!

Thanks for the thought. Unfortunately, despite our combined hopes, it did not stand up. Not really surprising, considering the number of games being played.

I played a little while longer using the casino's money and walked away with 95% of my winnings. The next day I hit quad 2's on the same machine playing Double Bonus before I checked out of the hotel. What a fun trip that was! I highly recommend the Red Rock.

Greg,
Try to make Red Rock during a time when you can enjoy the pool (s). You don't even have to get wet to enjoy the ambiance. And, if you get a chance take a drive or tour of the Red Rock Canyon. It is also worth the time.

Even though this comment gets repetitous, I just can't help myself - when you win a jackpot, and continue playing, you are not playing with the "casino's money" - you are playing with your own hard earned winnings.
