Photo Cell Phone

Post by MikeA »

I'm trying to figure out how in the you-know-what you transfer photos from a cell phone to a computer!  The phone I'm getting is an LG-CG300.  It says that it's connectivity is "Bluetooth".  I know what Bluetooth is, and I can get a Bluetooth dongle adapter for my laptop/desktop since they just plug into the USB port.  It apparently doesn't have USB connections. However, I'm seeing that Bluetooth for this phone and photos is to send the images to a Bluetooth printer!  Don't want to print the images!  I want to save them.  Is standard practice to "send" them with a messenging service to eMail or something stupid like that?  I don't want to pay for messenging or internet access on my cell phone.  Just want to unload the photos.

Who is your cell phone carrier?  I have Verizon and have never figured this out myself with my KRAZR.

A "dongle adapter"? I'm sorry, I have appropiately chastised myself and will go back to my plant watering.

Who is your cell phone carrier?  I have Verizon and have never figured this out myself with my KRAZR.I'm with Cingular (ATT).  It was time to upgrade and the LG-CG300 was about the best of the totally free phone upgrades they offer.   The only other one that was completely free was a Nokia 6102i.  Not a bad phone, but not as good in the reviews as the LG phone. Most of the others either carried an out of pocket charge or had a mail-in rebate or both.  I've dealt with those rebates on previous upgrades and they can take forever to be honored!

Webman, take a look at the following two sites.  The are CNet reviews and may be one alternative to paying carriers for the transfers:http://reviews.cnet.com/conferencing-an ... tag=txtOne of these is a "Bluetooth" suite of software.  I might have to go that route.  Of course, the $49 price tag for the suite would have been enough to let me get one of the phones with "external" memory that could be pulled and stuffed into a card reader.  These should act like another disk drive, just as do MP3 memory cards.

My cell USB adapter has never worked as promised. I just e-mail my photos to myself.

I really don't want to subscribe to that cellular service (I think it's called MMM or Multi Media Messaging or something like that) to send pics in eMail to myself.  If that's the only option, I'll just wait for my other phone to come up for upgrade and get one that has removable memory (micro SD).I did see that there is a USB data cable available for that phone even though the specs do not list USB as a connectivity option.  I'm betting that if there is a data connection that will let you SYNC your phone books that there will be a way to get to the digital image data also.  I'm hoping anyway.

Cell phones? Finally got one of them computers 2years ago and got myself on the world wide web. I have been very pleased with my ability to learn it and type pretty good. I do make adjustments having only 9 fingers.
I thought cells phones was just going to be a passing fade like 8 track tapes but looks like they are going to be around a little longer. Might need to see about getting one. Are they getting pretty reliable? Do I need a big antenna for the house? I live way back up in a holler about 2 mile from the last electric pole before you get to the rr crossing, if I get a celluar phone do you thinks it will reach that far? Do you get to pick your own phone number?

Mike if you want to take pictures just getting yourself one of those Kodak insta-matics. I even seen a camera that you can just throw away after you take it in to kmart to develope the film.

OEJ,I done got me one of them digital type cameras.  Wonderful device.  Wouldn't go back to 35mm for anything.  Not knowing whether or not you were being sarcastic about the phones, semi-sarcastic or serious....but yes, there are some service providers that have really good coverage now and it's getting better all the time.  I use Cingular (now back to ATT!) and it's pretty reliable in most places. The Photo-option....I want it so that if I ever get another Royal, I can shoot it and look at it every now and agin.
