VP at Empire City: The Bad and the Ugly

Post by Tomcat1569 »

Just got back from a quick pre-birthday excursion to Empire City last night. It was an unprofitable trip, to say the least. The casino was dead, whether due to it being mid-week, competition from the newly-opened Aqueduct casino, or that people are out Christmas shopping.  I played exclusively at the bank of twenty 9/6 JOB Game Kings close to the Food Court, and even those machines were more than half empty. Pay tables are generous, with Straight Flushes paid at 300 credits instead of 250 and a random "Genie" feature that pops up to change some of the cards into better paying hands. Over four hours of play, I was dealt four to the royal three times, achieving only a regular flush on one (not so unusual). Made four 4OAKs the entire time, a bit below average. The game tended to play very unevenly, with long stretches of blank hands and then small bursts of good ones. The Genie came up rarely, maybe every 100 hands -- if that.   My question is whether anyone knows if these machines are standard standalone slant-tops with RNGs or if they are VLTs like the rest of the place. My suspicions are that they are the latter, based on their strange behavior. Certainly I didn't experience anything close to the theoretical payback, which should have been around 99.6%. Rather, they played like 95% games based on my hourly loss rate. For the record, I play close to perfect 9/6 JOB strategy.

Empire City is required to pay back NINETY percent only on all machines including vp.. That comes from Casino Player Mag. Stay away! Having said that I did hit RF on those machines, It;s a place to go when you have an hour to kill but don;t expect to be gambling fairly;

 Hey LL, that is what I call a couple of unique Christmas presents. I always thought the stork did the delivering, now I find it was Santa.

Talk about special Christmas gifts, we brought both home on Christmas Day.

I sometimes felt as a kid shortchanged by having my birthday so close to Christmas so I promised myself I'd never have kids with birthdays in December. Math was never my strongest subject.

 Faygo, that's what I thought. This is really criminal in my opinion when they lure you in with a good paytable, only for it not to really apply to the payback percentage of the game

 Farc, That's impressive in light of the 90% regulation. How did you manage it? What were the circumstances of the RF?

Dealt 4 to a royal at that bank of vp machines. It has to hit sometimes within the 90 percent.Another bad thing about EC is that any win over 600 dollars requires a wg2 b/c it is connected to NYS lottery, And I believe that little genie appears to bring the percentage back to 90. It's a bad bet period.
