multiple royals
Was playing 100 deck VP at home last night on the Harrahs web site when I got 5 Royals on one hand. Never saw this happen on the same machine in a casino. Any thoughts or comments?

Welcome to the website. What cards were dealt to you and how many cards did you hold ?

Any thoughts or comments?rickstr, this is fairly rare. How rare is it? Using 100-play 9/6 Jacks or Better as a model, the odds of getting 5 or more royals on one hand are about 41,362 to 1, coincidentally about the same odds of getting a royal in single line play. Although I haven't done the calculations for other games, the odds on most non-wild games will be extremely close to this, due partly from the information in the next paragraph.* Since 99.9968% of the time when someone gets exactly 5 royals, they were dealt 4 to the royal, it is overwhelmingly likely that the answer to Jim's question was that you held 4 to the royal. If you were dealt only 3 to the royal and drew 5 royals, then you have a real scoop (and I imagine you would have given that information in your original post). If were dealt 2 or fewer, then hell has frozen over and you need to duck to get out of the way of flying pigs. Once you have been dealt 4 to the royal, prior to the draw, hitting 5 out of 100 is not typical, but not really rare either. The odds then of getting 5 or more royals from a dealt 4 to the royal are only about 15 to 1.*With deuces wild games, you hold only KQJT from KQJT9 suited and thus have more chances at 4 to the royal holds, so the odds may be shorter. With joker games, because of
the extra card and the fact that you do not usually draw to joker
royals, you will get fewer chances, so the odds will be longer. shadowman, I don't think I have
heard of 100-play one-eyed jack machines, so that answer may be academic
and I didn't really want to have to think that hard anyway.

On 100 play at the palms I've seen six RF more than once. I think eight was the record I witnessed.
