Everything Happens for a Reason

Post by Tony Felder »

So I am about 5000pts away from obtaining Gold status at MGM Detroit. Headed down this morning to work on that when I get there the police have the parking structure blocked off. The line for valet was 50 cars long so I decide to just head a few blocks to a different casino, Greektown.
I haven't had a lot of luck there but didnt want to waste my 30 minute drive, so I pull in park and go to the VP area. After wandering a bit I sit down on a .25 TDB Triple play. Second hand I catch four 4's for $100, so I was pleased. Still excited about that 2 hands later I catch 4 AWAK for $1000! Been playing 5 min and I am up $1100.

The next 2 hours were up and down and left  being up $865. So a big thank you to the Detroit police department!!! You never know why things happen the way they do.

Now theres a story worth reading, congratulations in Detroit! The math followers would now ask if you were playing with that all important edge. If you werent, even though you won a bundle, you were wasting your time because you cannot win on machines that are not at least 100.00001%. Its also not wise to play on and expect to win on anything under 100%.  From Greektown to Geektown.

Once again you feel it necessary to incorrectly state what "math followers" say. You state they would say "you cannot win on machines that are not at least 100.00001%". Of course, that is complete nonsense. Math followers are completely aware of variance and that anyone can win at any time.

The big question is why does backsider feel it necessary to even mention "math followers"? Why does he feel it necessary to make these false statements? What does he expect to accomplish?

Question #1 SM, because he wants to get under your skin and to Irk you. Question #2 because he wants to feel self-important or he is making up for a short coming somewhere else. Question #3 exactly what you are giving him ATTENTION.   So just ignore him maybe he will go away. I doubt it but maybe.

I'd like to interpose a thought. What I'm seeing here is
demographic exclusion. To refute the mathematical position, you'd have
to be a mathematician, of course if you were, you'd likely have nothing to
refute. If one is to correctly understand and refute the
mathematical POV, one would have to be a "math follower" themselves to
understand it.If one doesn't understand something, they should
not try to comment on it, or make comments about it, that put words in
the mouths of those that do...else they would be making themselves a
target of ridicule.Since I hate even reading other people's
conflict, what I'm suggesting is that people stick to their own personal
areas of expertise, and not try to play in each other's sand boxes. In
other words, if you are a mathematician and wish to contradict another
mathematician, have at it. If you are not a mathematician, hold your
opinions on math related subjects to yourself. Imagine you are in a
court of law and if you comment the defence is only going to object,
"Inexpert testimony".I'm sure this would serve to reduce some of the conflict I see around here.

Thanks Doris!! Sorry that my "story' turned into another sniping contest between people. I have only been on the forum a couple of months and really like reading about people's adventures in VP. But, some people take the personal attacks to an extreme. Wish we would see more of the positive things regarding VP. Isn't that why most people play? Hoping that they will have a fun and exciting time and/or to make money!!Let's hear more about those stories, just my opinion.
