Best East Coast Odds

Post by FloridaPhil »

We play mostly in Florida and Mississippi.  We pay-to-play negative expectation games because that's all we have.  I'm curious about other States outside of Nevada.  The best .25 VP we have been able to find is 8/5 DDB, 8/5 Jacks & 7/5 Bonus.  The DW odds really stink.   Once in a great while we run across some $1 9/6 Jacks, but they are disappearing too.  There's a lot of talk about expanding gambling in Florida.  If it goes through, maybe it will kick the odds in the right direction.

I have visions of the casinos eliminating video poker altogether in the future, unless there's enough people still willing to accept and play the paltry paytables. There are some near "full pay" games still in the midwest. I found one paying over 100% but when I go to that casino, I don't sit on it everyday for hours. Ironically, it's almost always vacant.

Seems like Video Poker is as popular as ever here in Florida.  Most people around me play DDB and they could care less about the odds.   lately, I'm playing 7/5 Bonus because it's the best .25 game I can find.  Hit a Royal this morning and walked away up $800.  Life is good (at least for today).

New Jersey qualifies as being on the east coast, albeit cosiderably far north from Florida.

Atlantic City has better pay tables than what you have to play in Florida

I've heard that.  Can you find 9/6 .25 Jacks or is it limited to $1 play?

Caesar's for sure has 0.25c 9/6 JOB.  They have 6 linked machines in a bank with a progressive Royal.

I know Borgata has 9/6 JOB, but I don't know if it's available at 0.25c.

I game I enjoy a lot is at Bally's - 3 line 0.25c 8/5 bonus poker with a progressive Royal..

You might check the vpfree2 database for what's available elsewhere.

I just did what I suggested you do - check the inventory as reported in vpfree2.

There are 7 casinos listed as having 0.25c 9/6 JOB.

I was at Ballys AC yesterday. (SATURDAY)  I usually just play during the week when the casinos and not very bussy.   Yesterday i noticed that all the good machines were packed with 7 - star playeres.    The 3 line 25 cent 8/5 bonus poker was packed with the 7 star guys and girls.  I have never played this machine but it must have a good pay back as you have to put in 1 millon dollars into vido poker to make  7 stars.  Mostly I play 9/6 jacks or better.  25 cents when there is no mutplier and 1$ when there is.  I just got a comp in the mail for next month.  They are giving me a 3-9 comp mutplier each Thrusday  in Febuary. I will be playing  the 1$  progressive   Jacks  or Better .   You can really rack up lots of comp dollars with the multiplier.   I can only iminage how many comp dollars the 7 star guys have.

the seven stars 8-5 99.17 bp means the average 7 star expected loss is 1000000x99.17 or 8300 minus comps per year assuming perfect play good for the ceo not the players

phil,
The Isle Biloxi had several good odds on 25¢ machines when we were last there including 9/6 JOB; 8/5 BP and 99.8% 3/5/10 play TB+. VPfree shows they should still have them. The multi-hand 5¢ were around 98% when I caught the dealt RF last trip. Don't know if you play there or not.

Congrats on the RF

Lucky Larry
