What I saw was sorta...truly amazing ! Same searches I had on Amazon.com were listed in order on their ad here.  Hows that for beating the odds.

Sounds like targeted advertising. There is a lot of that these days (where your home town will appear in the ad, etc). Maybe Amazon uses a cookie to market in that manner. If so, usually there is a way to opt out of that on the advertiser's web site if it bothers you.

Webman thanks for your reply.  Just thought it was odd that Amazon was plugging dusk to dawn sensors for vp players.

I've been seeing the targeted advertising for many months now. It's not just Amazon either as I've seen ads from other websites I visit. I suspect Google is involved as well. They probably sell the advertising space to the websites and then use cookies created by the websites we visit.

I saw that this story too and thought of this thread. It looks like that was particular to users of Safari, which must offer blocking on the browser level.
