multi line or single line ?

I have been playing regularly for 15 years. I played exclusively single line until about 2 years ago, when I hit 2 royals on 2- 10 play BP in about 30- minutes...Now I am hooked on multi line games.  is there a huge difference in payout or odds in multi line as opposed to single line games ?

The odds are the same. You will, however, be able to play many more hands in the same time. This will lead to more jackpots but also faster losses.

Welcome to the forum. I'm in the same boat - I can't stand to play single hand anymore. I'll play multi-hand even if I have to lower the denomination to play more hands on the bank roll. The problem is often finding good pay returns for lower denominations. This is why we play Isle Lake Charles.

BTW: Which way do you go to play?

Mainly a Vegas guy, but had some luck at Winstar in Oklahoma last winter (royal on $.50, 3X super pay).  Yeah the multi line is very enticing due to chances, but losses can also add up quicker.  Play and stay at Caesars 3-4 times a year.  Pay schedules have really gone down over the past 5 years.  Use to could find 9/6 JOB, but now only on large demoninations.  That is why I like the 5 or 10 play, because you can risk a little more, but just a few 4 of a kinds and it keeps you going.

  Shadowman noted the odds are the same. That's true only if the pay schedule is the same. Many casinos offer different pay schedules on their single-line games than they do on their multi-line games. (Either one can be better --- but I find it more often that single-line has a better schedule than multi-line.) You have to check every time. If you take the position that "I only play xxxxx format" you're going to be missing out on the best games at some casinos. Sometimes the single line is the better play. Sometimes the multi-line is the better play. Bob

on a single line, do the same random generator is used with different bet, ie bet 1, 2, 3 or bet 5 max ? Thanks.

Same RNG would be used as there would be no difference if another was used. No one would waste the space to have two of them.

If you don't bet 5 coins per line you (almost certainly) won't get 800 per coin for a Royal Flush, but 250 per coin instead.I won't step down in paytable just to go up in lines.  I will, however, step down in denomination to flatten out the ride.  No choice, really, in stepping down because 50-play 5c NSU is about the best out there.I have found these to be about the same:25c 1-line NSU/FPDW ($1.25/bet)10c 10-line NSU ($5.00/bet)5c   23-line NSU ($5.75/bet)50-line 5c NSU is a little too wild for my comfort level, at $12.50/bet, so I play it at 23 lines.In all of these permutations, losing $250-$300 in a modest (2-3 hour) session is about the worst you can expect, but you won't get the monster win on the multi-line games unless you're dealt deuces or a royal.  But dealt flushes and higher happens fairly frequently and are a nice cash boost.  Dealt wild royals and 5OAK happen too.Good way for a quarter player to get coin in per hour up while reducing the risk of a really big hit to the bankroll (or a really short session).
