We have been on several cruises US and Europe, but had never been on Carnival till this last Jan. Took the 7 day cruise out of New Orleans on the Carnival Conquest, NO dissapointments. Always heard it was not as nice as some of the other lines we had been on. Room, and service were great, dining room and food very nice. We will go again on Carnival.

I'm an NCL guy, Farmer. I like the 'free style' cruising, and also the comps from the casino play.

Is this the same "Farmer" that was on RC Voyager of the Seas last November? I have not been on Elation but Fantasy and Conquest. I was treated MUCH better by the casino managers on Carnival than on RCL. Carnival comped constantly, knew you by name after the first day, sent wine to the dining room multiple times etc. RCL finally realized, after day 4, that I had left thousands in their place and put me on the comp list. They also sent me $500 for next trip. My buddy that was with me played very hard and easily left them with as much as I did and not even a thank you from casino manager. Due to weather we spent a LOT of time in the casino. I know a lot of folks that like NCL but haven't gone that route yet. As I'm sure you know most ships are very tight. Good Luck and Enjoy! Robert

We went on our first and only cruise on RC Monarch of the Seas back in the 90's. We went out of Puerto Rico to Martinque, Barbados, Antiqua and Virgin Islands. It was at that time the biggest ship going. I figured I would NEVER get seasick on that one..wrong!, but thats another story. I would not go back on RC because there really wasn't that much activity on board, and we hated having to dress for dinner. We did not get a send-off party, (watched the others go) and it was just designed more for the older crowd. If we go again, I think the Alaska cruise is what we might do on Norwegian. Anybody do Alaska?

Did Alaska twice on NCL out of Seattle. Loved both trips. I would recommend that you get a balcony for your cruise. We did an excursion in every port the first time, and then just roamed the port cities the next time. Great experiences.
