Windsor Caesar's will open new Diamond Lounge soon

Post by marie meijer »

Their old Diamond Lounge would not admit Diamond members unless they had a tier score of 50K, I was told by a Diamond Lounge employee. To my knowledge, the 11K Diamond rating requirement allows entry to all other Harrah's Diamond Lounges throughout the US.From the "August 2012 Newsletter, Caesars Windsor": "For those Diamond customers who have earned a Tier Score of 25K or greater in the prior or current year, you and a guest will be eligible for 1 free admission each day. Additional admissions can be purchased for 1K Rewards Credits/person"."Diamond customers who's Tier Score below 25K are welcome in the Diamond Lounge. 1K Rewards Credits will be charged for each admission."While it is a big and beautiful casino, IMHO, they are not playing with a full deck! First of all, it's a $4-4.50 tunnel fee each way from Detroit and a passport, or equivalent, is necessary. The tunnel fee depends on whether you are paying USD or CAD, respectively. There are often delays at that tunnel crossing, especially when returning to Detroit. Further, one's car may be searched at the border, consuming more time. IF they find a carrot or a grape, they might give a warning. OR the first offense is $300 and the second offense is $500.  Secondly, there are three great and newish casinos in Detroit (Greektown, MGM Grand and Motorcity) and they all have very fine restaurants, buffets, snack areas. Thirdly, there are many fun restaurants surrounding Greektown that accept Greektown casino comps including Mosiac, Five Guys, Astoria Pastry Shop, when one obtains a meal voucher at the players club.I feel Caesars Windsor could be more player friendly!

Harrahs/Caesars in AC charges 1k TC for their Diamond Lounge, also, so I hear. Looks like a trend.

I had heard that there was too much abuse the old way, not specifically @Windsor, but across all Harrahs/Caesars properties. Groups of folks would 'pool', get one to Diamond, and then rotate as a guest each day, just to eat and/or drink, with no casino play.

Wow - may have to make that 7Star Annual Trip to Windsor just to check that out, MM. Is it still snowy and cold there in March? Maybe I will go for my birthday.

Oh, wait, I forgot - I am not REALLY a 7Star. Bob Dancer has the evidence, I can't be, he ran the numbers.

BTY - I am sure that you meant August 2012 Newsletter.

I gotta say, the "old" way of the diamond club lounges allowing anyone with a diamond card to eat/drink each day had its flaws, but this idea of pooling boggles me, how did they do it exactly?  I always have had to show my ID along with my diamond card, so if a pool of people are abusing one card, how does that work since you can only have one name on the card?  I know you can bring a guest, so that would mean one of the people in the "pool" would have to show up always with the rotating guest.   seems as though one of the pool would get tremendously fat while everyone else only ate once a week??? lol   I'm sure I am missing something here but what?? As for myself, I probably am "guilty" of some sort of abuse, but not by design or premeditation....consider:  I first started going to AC in Feb 2009, and chose thr Tropicana as my home base....I soon was a VIP diamond at Trop.  In October 2009, I went to Ballys AC and was immediately given a DIAMOND level players card based on my tropicana card (along with 400 bucks free play, and a lot of food options, including the diamond club.)   But after my free play was done, i rarely went to Ballys to gamble for the next year (I pretty much stayed and continued to play at the Tropicana for the next year.)  But I still ate at the Diamond club for this next year every chance I got, until the card expired in March 2011 because I had not kept up the level of play needed.  In May 2011 I started to play at Ballys and Caesars regularly and now I am back at Diamond but now the policy is what it is so I am SOL unless I want to pay or go all out for 7 stars. Reality is, casino systems lend themselves to ertain abuses and frauds simply by virtue of what they are and WHO the people are that use them.....I'm not saying any of us here at this site fit the bill, but I do know a lot of slimy sketchy people who frequent casinos and are ALWAYS looking to get one over on the house.....all it does is make life miserable fot those of us doing things right (more or less) and who use casinos simply for entertainment.

Well, Burglar, all I know is what I had been told. Now, at the risk of ticking off the mature women on this site, what I was told is that these 'pools' were usually a group of older women who lived close together. At their age, they all looked alike, at least their faces.   So they would talk, and whoever wanted to go to the Lounge that day got the license and card from the 'owner', took their guest, and were off. If they were questioned, it was just a 'bad hair' day in their photo ID.

I am sure they did not go EVERY DAY, but the 'owner' of the Diamond  Card showed little or no gaming activity once that tier level was reached, in spite of repeated trips to the casino, per the Diamond Lounge log.
