Triple Trouble Poker

Post by Tomcat1569 »

A friend of mine has played this game a few times in Atlantic City and was asking me tonight whether this is a true video poker game or a slot machine. The game has a bonus feature that is randomly activated when three devil symbols appear on the screen; you get a 3x multiplier and three bonus hands in devil mode. Does anyone know about this game and whether it is worth playing, if it has a decent paytable?

Wizard of Odds reported 97.4796% EV for the following paytable:800-50-200/40/25-7-5-4-2-1-1He said the bonus feature occurred 1.6% of the time.  I think he was rounding this because I once saw on a Bally website 1 game in 63, which is slightly different (1.5873%), which yields a somewhat smaller
EV: 0.973386.I did see this pay schedule several years ago in a casino.  I have not heard of any other schedules, but of course they may exist.

New2vp, thanks for your detailed reply. Does this mean that it is indeed a VP game and not a slot/bingo game?

I saw it but didn't play it.  And at the time I saw it, I wasn't aware of the difference between VLTs and Class III machines.I suppose it could be either depending on the locale, but the Wizard of Odds did indeed calculate the EV like it was a standard video poker with equally likely randomly distributed cards on both the deal and draw.

It's just a regular video poker game with a bonus feature on it where you can win bonus hands at 3X payout.  BUT there is also a Triple Trouble slot machine with the same flames and little devil faces and stuff around the screen which might be where the confussion is coming in.
