Rampart Fast and Loose with Drawing Rules
Rampart is running a drawing this month. Tickets accumulate all month, you swipe to activate, and they draw 10 names at 6, 7, and 8pm (ugh) on Saturdays. The rules state that players have two minutes to get to the drawing area or they call another name.Winners each pick an envelope from the drum and win the cash inside ($350 - $10,000).On this particular Saturday there was a show in the ballroom that began at 7:30pm. Some of the names called at the 8pm drawing (I don't know exactly how many) were "in the show so they'll come pick their envelopes later."When I questioned the manager of the promotion I got some "management reserves the right" nonsense. The way I see it is the people with tickets in the drum made a gambling decision when they chose to buy show tickets and attend instead of being present for the drawing. My opportunity to be drawn was diminished because they should have drawn more names after the 2-minute deadline expired.I made my point and left.

The local "racino" here has these drawings all the time. Rules state that to you must have your card in a machine to be chosen, and you have 2 min. to get to players club if picked. this is a small place, 1 room, easy to navigate. It always amazes me how many names they call before they have a winner. A few times they just stopped calling names and then later, after some time, announce they found a winner, no name. Not sure if people can ask to not give there name when anouncing.
Entries are Based on play over a given period and you can transfer points on card for entries 1 for 1. Between those, I usually have over 1000 enties in these. Luck has not tapped me on the shoulder yet in 4 years, lol.

The Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi has similar drawings a couple of times each week, with a different theme each month or so. This month, they were on Wednesdays and Fridays. They are run hourly, from 6PM to 10PM. They do it electronically, earning entries based on your play in a given month. You can choose when to electronically 'redeem' your earned entries. Some locals pile up their earned entries until one drawing night late in the month to try and increase their odds. Prizes are all FreePlay, with all the amounts double for the final 10PM drawing on each drawing day. Max prize is $2k FreePlay in each drawing, doubling to $4k at the 10PM drawing. You can be called up to two times in any drawing evening, so most times, you are still in it for the 10PM drawing.
They draw 10 names, and if at least 7 show up during the 2 minute countdown, they play the game with those that are present. They only call additional names if less than 7 respond in any drawing.
I have been lucky, and have had my name drawn about 5 times across various visits to The Beau. I have won the $2k max prize one time.
You cannot hear the names drawn in the restaurants or in the show room. I was there this past Friday, and chose to attend a Rita Rudner/Brad Garrett show. The show was supposed to start at 7PM, and was expected to last until about 9:30PM. It started late, so of course, it ran late. It was funny to see about half of the theater get up to leave at about 9:55PM. Brad Garrett thought it was because of his 'humor' (or lack, thereof). I hope someone told him afterwards that it was probably because folks didn't want to miss hearing their name at the doubled awards drawing at 10PM that night.
