with cutbacks in staffig at all AC casinos, security is one of the biggest losers.....I'm serious, next time you are in any of the Boardwalk casinos, especially the Atlantic club, the tropicana, Caesars, Ballys and Resorts. really truly take a look at the security guard situation (or lack thereof)......especially at 3 am in a place like Caesars, there are so few security guards it gives me serious anxiety about playing.   The ubiquitous "panhandlers-beggars" in AC casinos are particularly annoying, they always find you when you are all alone and there are NO security guards around to trun to for help in getting rid of these forceful and intimidating beggars.    What is interesting about the AC beggars who come up to you while you are playing, is they always ask you for a few dollars (like 5  or 6) because "They lost their bus ticket and they are only 5 dollars short of buying a new one and getting back home to their wife and kids, or their sick cat or dead grandmother, or is it sick grandmother and dead cat....?"   I dunno, but it always the same story, a lost bus ticket.... The last idiot who came up to me in caesars wanting a few dollars, I calmly looked around first for a security guard I could point him to for assistance, and finding/seeing NONE as usual, I then told this idiot that, in the past month alone, I have had 11 or 12 OTHER people come up to me in this VERY same casino claiming they lost their bus ticket, and I am sure there must be a BIG BASKET FULL OF LOST BUS TICKETS somewhere in the casino, probably in Lost In found.   I told him I would gladly help him look and find his ticket, even pointing the way to Lost & Found up at the front desk/Concierge.    He just looked at me like a dear in the headlights, realized I was NOT going to give him a friggin penny, and pranced away to look for another isolated gamer to harras for money.  The poor economy has really hit all casinos, , hard.   The fact that AC has no clue how to rectify their ever shrinking market share is only adding to the furstration, so they cut cut cut staffing anywhere they can, especially security.  Someday, eventually, there is going to be a really serious incident that will involve or be precipitated by the lack of security in these casinos, and then the poop will really hit the fan, you just watch.   I'm sick of it.... What's worse, many of the "guards" they do have on duty, are so old or fat (or both) that me, crippled in my wheelchair, poses a more intimidating threat to would-be criminals because, despite my four wheels, I am VERY strong in my upper body (I can bench 235 lbs 12 times, and I used to race competitively and play wheelchair basketball) so I manage to grab hold of one of these pricks, I wont let go until he is down on the ground in my "SUPER COBRA CLUTCH", gasping for air and crying "UNCLE".    Mama says "Crippled is as Crippled does...."  But out on the street, when approached by homeless smelly lost souls, I ALWAYS offer to buy them a sandwich or hot dog or something to eat, and if they refuse and insist on money I usually give in and fork over a dollar or two because I know they need the booze and the last thing I want to see is a homeless person going into early stages of the Delerium Tremens (which can be fatal by the way folks.)

Interesting post, DaBurglar and good to let others know what is going on so they might plan accordingly. I was approached by beggars twice in two days in AC, a considerable time ago: Ballys and Caesars. The latter held out a handful of small change and needed more for bus fare. I personally feel saying "no" or shaking my head negatively is sufficient. A friend will scream "SECURITY". I tried that and my nice whisper probably was not even heard by the beggar. Let's not encourage them with donations or conversation. In another casino and city, more recently,  I mentioned the begging approach to a security guard and she took off after him using her phone. I try not to make waves in a casino or offend anyone, as I do not wish to be followed.

Tedlark, I purposefully misspelled emoticon to see if you caught the misspelling.  You "stepped" into my beartrap!  LOL   Nice display of false piety.  It's all in fun.  See you down the line.

I was playing at Place Station years ago next to an old lady. We were playing ddb and as soon as I sat down I noticed that she didn't know how to play very well. Well this is a big distraction to me for some reason. I guess I just can't believe that people would waste good money playing a game that they don't understand....go play the dumb slots for Pete's sake. As time went on she was dealt little ones with a card that was not a kicker. She held all 5 cards and was about to hit the draw button, before I knew what I was doing I grabbed her arm. The look on her face was nothing but fear. OMG what did I do???? I quickly said sorry if I startled you but you was about to make a big mistake. The look on her face changed from fear to puzzled. As fast as I could, I explained to her she should try for the kicker. She did as I said and she got the kicker. She said thank you, she left after another 5-10 minutes. Still to this day I'm glad she didn't have a heart attack.
