Re: Planning for a better year in 2013...
This is a simple process really. Unless you are a die hard VP player who plays as his/her sole income. Or just has a gambling problem. How much can you afford to lose? How much money or hours do you want to spend in your session playing? Let's just say you take $200.00 with you and you only play $.25 denomination and don't stray from that. You can be there for a short time or a while. We don't have a crystal ball on what VP machine/game will pay. I suggest sticking to the machines that you have had previous success on. We don't win every time we step into a casino. And don't go in there with the attitude of " I am going to beat these machines today". This isn't rocket science. It's called recreational gambling. Or self entertainment. This shouldn't be a huge debate. Roveer has gone on dry spells, and I have gone on dry spells. It happens. I have won $3200.00 in two days of VP in less than 2 hours of play. Am I good VP player? I think I am. I played the right game/machine at the right time. Not sure what else to say.

First, very well written post by drawing dead, and everyone else who has written in this thread, well written posts whatever point you are making...it is threads like this that keep me coming to this forum in general. Second, at this stage in my life, having been playing VP of and on (mostly on) since 1993, and having played LIVE Poker versus people both online and in casinos since 2000 (just before the poker BOOM), I've come to the conclusion that there are tremendous similarities between the two games and experiences, as well as a few obvious big differences. But when all is said and done, both VP and regular poker are games of skill with a heaping portion of LUCK involved as well. WHat that means is while you can hone the odds down in your favor with your decision making, you cant make it DECISIVE, or "a sure thing" in either game, variance rules the day....but you have so much more control over the situation than with any other type of gaming. I've invested a lot of hot air fueling the debate about just how trustworthy some VP machines are especially in gaming markets that are in the crapper right now (like AC), and despite my beliefs in the possibility/probability that there are some machines out there rigged against us, I cant prove squat unless they allow me to take one of them home for a month with a power screw driver and a users manual...nonetheless, I still believe in the overall integrity of this game, just as I dont allow KNOWN cheaters and dishonest dealers or websites in the game of regular poker to poison my overall view of the game itself and what it has to offer. VP can be (and is for most people) a fun and even semi-healthy (psychologically) distraction, as long as MONEY (or "profit") is NOT the only goal, or even one of your goals....entertainment, fun, relaxation and many other abstract concepts are far more realistic goals than MONEY, even though MONEY feeds us having fun and excitement. Money is the only component we do not have complete control over (Money WON that is....obviously we have total control over how much to wager and lose.) My plans for this year are simple.....diversify my play Back between Vegas and AC, like I used to before 2009....that's it. I know how much I can spend (lose) and it will be divided between these two markets, with a effort to play at casinos with locations in both areas so I dont dilute my free junk and comps. Next january I'll add it up and plan again.

I dug through many of Roveer's picture threads. That's a lot of hits. But it would be nicer if you can find better paying machine to do that on. A 97.06% machine up to $60 a pop is going to be a crazy ride. :(
