Las Vegas Super Bowl Visit

Post by BillyJoe »

Well, just returned from our Vegas trip. Had a very nice time. Attended the SB party @ Caesars in the 'Emperor's Room", which was a little more intimate and comfortable, so that was nice. Had some great dinners at Bally's Steakhouse, Prime Steakhouse @ Bellagio and Sirio Italian Restaurant @ Aria, all of which I can recommend highly. No golf this trip, as I am still recovering from my leg problem. Saw a nice show @ NY/NY, "Dancing Queen", which of course had all the ABBA tunes, plus other 70's stuff. Very talented and entertaining performers.

Well, on to the gaming. Started out like gangbusters the first two days, and then really fizzled the rest of the trip. Here are a few highlights (sorry about the fuzzy photos)

-- My first W2G of 2013...

--My first RF of 2013...

--A nice Good Times Pays hit on a Five Star machine...

-- I posted this because I had read on the Forum of vanishing One Eyed Jacks machines. This was at Bellagio. I am not sure if this a good paytable for this game, since I nevever play it.

-- The wifey got this win. Playing TDB $1 three-way, dealt quad Aces with no kicker, and drew ZERO kickers. She was not pleased, even though it was a hand-pay.

---
A couple other tidbits. For you AP'ers out there, I found a 9/7 TDB (99.978% on the Draw side) $1 Double Pay Three-Way machine at Bellagio. Just one machine. It is located near the Jasmine Restaurant.

I also tried 'Winning Streak' @ Caesars. It is kinda like reverse Multi-Strike. A fun game, but expensive @ 25 coins a pull.

Next Vegas trip looks like May.

Yeah - I think I need to fire my cellphone camera. The first pic is four tens on the top two lines, with the 4X multipliers.

Bally's Steakhouse in Vegas rules, one of my favorites, despite it's stubborn adherence to the ala carte approach to steakhouse dining.....these days most places are offering Prix Fixe variants of full course meals at a set price which is nice considering the trouble most people have had with the economy. Vegas Steakhouse debates are second only to politics/religion in terms of partisan vigor in my opinion! I also love the steakhouse at Circus circus, both it and Bally's are considered Vegas Classics given how long they have been around. But there is one place only a few of us true Vegas Steak afficonados know about, simply because it is located OUTSIDE vegas, but it serves some of the best FOOD (in general) and STEAKS (in particular) around......it is the steak house located in Primm, on the stateline, inside WHiskey Petes.  Primm, Nevada is about 40 miles from Vegas on the I-15, and the steak house used to be called SILVER SPUR STEAKHOUSE (I am not sure if it changed its name recently).    Almost all residents of Vegas in the late 90s into early 2005 knew it to be the best steakhouse around, but because of its remote location, only the tourists who drove from California knew of it or had a chance to visit. I was last there in 2007 and I still taste the Ribeye in my dreams, along with its unbelievable clam chowder (and I am from New England and went to college in Boston!)

I am from Chicago, Burglar, and I love both the food and the ambiance of Bally's Steakhouse. Nothing like a little Sinatra playing as that filet melts in your mouth.

As for clam chowder, have you tried the buffet at Harrah's on the Strip? I think they have a terrific New England Chowder.
