In response to Faygo and the poster above, Husband/Wife issues rarely will result in a delayed payout, or difficulties in general in any casino, whenever a jackpot is hit.  the reasons for this are obvious..... Having "friends" or even complete strangers playing on, and hitting with, other peoples' cards raises a lot of issues for casinos.   Consider one scenario I recall hearing about a couple years ago: A floor supervisor at the Tropicana-AC who I used to chat up told me about a "team" of 6 or 7 people from NYC who all played and used the same card/same account number....they were vietnamese but totally unrelated to each other....it went on for 9 months and between the 6 or 7 total people pooling their play they reached the Trop's Highest player level in under 3 months and were raking in the benefits....They received 4 comped nights per week (any day, sunday thru saturday) and frequently would book a four night stay Wednesday thru Saturday, and then a 4 night stay Sunday thru wednesday giving them a 8 night Bloc of rooms.  They'd share the room and swap off nights, the entire group sometimes staying together on weekend nights, and this went on for almost 6 months until the middle of 2011...they got busted when they screwed up and had two members playing at two different machines at the same time using the same card they all shared (and each member had their own card which turned out to be their undoing.)   The Tropicana "slot police" (aka The Player's club management, whose sole job in life, it seems, is to say NO" to player requests and discourage all from maximizing the advantages of the player's reward program) noticed the duplicate activity when one of the players went to the booth to redeem a bus coupon and they noticed both the duplicate action and the fact that, while the person was there getting the bus coupon redeemed, the card was ACTIVE somewhere else in the casino!!!!   Duhhhhhhh I know that since then, the Tropicana will not allow any one single account number to be "active" on more than one machine at a time. I think "intent" has a lot to do with how a casino reacts to this kind of activity.....a group of friends say, playing a Video Poker machine on a signle card, and trading off playing time to ensure no one gets sore or tired, and to "help" a friend who actually owns the card, is a lot different situation than a "crew" setting out to chisel every last benefit and slot dollar and free buffet from a casino's players' program.....personally, I dont see a problem with a "crew" like the one the tropicana manager described to me, I think if people want to tdo that, and they are not actually cheating the games, then so be it.....but the part about all 6 staying in a room and swapping out over the course of a week seems a bit excessive.

Personally, as long as the casino is getting the action and would award benefits at that level of play, that should be good for both parties. The more play, the more profit for the casino. I agree with the room swapping though. In Ct, the Mohegan Sun Casino is very generous with husband/wife playing together on one card. On a sad note, my best friend's wife recently passed away unexpectedly. The casino has a simple form in those cases to transfer over player's points to the surviving spouse. In my friend's case, it amounted to over 3,500 points they transferred over in a matter of days. That was nice because he used some of them to buy gifts like Godiva Chocolates for people at her workplace who were so generous to my friend in his time of need.

 I heard that in the new casino REVEL in AC. You can`t have 2 cards in at the same time. So this means that if wanted to play 2 slot/poker machines at the same time you can't.
My girlfriend and I play on 1 card/ account at the same time.
Some casino host prefer to play on one account. I guess it's easier bookkeeping.

I posted this last July. It's worth repeating:

A word of caution on using one card. Read the letter to the editor
entitled "Joint Account for Married Couples" and response on page 7 of the June
2012 issue of Arizona Gaming Guide. http://issuu.com/arizonagamingguide/doc ... ntationThe most relevant sentence in the response are: "In fact, just recently we had an enraged player write in to us asking for help in her fight against a casino that took away her player's card privileges when her abd her husband were caught using the same account."  I guess it depends on the casino.

     I lost the benefits and free-play for both myself,  and my wife, for 30 days. My wife was visiting our daughter and grandkids for a month. I didn't lie, just told him she was worried about losing her gold card, and I was just helping her out. He took both cards.       Dave

Well as I said before,  wife and I play on my card at Caesars properties.  Have done so for probably 15 years in Reno, Vegas and Atlantic City.  Never had a problem.  Guess it depends on the casino. We also play on one card at Atlantis in the Bahamas.

Jim,
New casinos using newer upgraded software probably can read multiple cards at the same time.

This scenario would blow their minds. At our last trip to Isle a regular player hit big - dealt 5 Aces DW Dbl B. As the machine to his right opened up he immediately put in an extra card, $100 and begin his normal 100 x 1 play. When the machine on his left opened up another card and another $100 to play now 3 machines at the same time. He was still playing that way an hour later.

The scenario is not that uncommon. We once saw a guy at L'Auberge du Lac playing 4 machines at once. He had 4 - $5 progressive slots all with several hundred $ in each. He moved right down the line left to right and then back to start over. This act continued through multiple hand pays.   What casino would want to lose a guy playing $15/hand x 4?

Here are some actions to take:
1) request to immediately talk to the host supervisor;
2) contact marketing and ask about your annual coin-in/coin-out amount and threaten to quit playing at the casino;
3) let the marketing and general management know you have a choice where to play;
4) let them know you'll be contacting this web site , other forums, friends and hosts at other casinos to know what happened. No one knows how to better bad talk a competitor than other casino hosts. Your story will be repeated over and over again. Bad publicity is a killer for casinos.

We both have accounts because the Isle software system doesn't allow linking of husband/wife accounts so separate accounts.

Our past trip we played hard late into the night and the next morning we were going to play just a $100. Two elderly sisters (regulars who we know) were at the machines. They usually play 1 @ 5 or 2 @ 5 on 5¢ multi-hand. We offered to play on their extra cards and did so for the next several hours putting several thousand points on their cards. We got to play, they got the points (thanked us), it didn't hurt our daily average, and the casino gets the money. WIn-Win-Win
