Casino Win/Loss Control

Post by Fuzbal »

I strongly suspect that some of the  Casino's in Missouri have a central control on who wins or loses. Harrah's and Ameristar in particular.

Let me guess - you're not doing well at those casinos!

LOL

I hope this isn't the case as these are my two closest casinos! And Harrah's is actually a Hollywood now, fwiw.

From: Rules of Department of Public Safety

Division 45—Missouri Gaming Commission

Chapter 5—Conduct of Gaming

Section 190-Minimum Standards for Electronic Gaming Devices

Subsection (2) - Electronic Gaming Devices shall --

Sub-subsection (H) Have a random selection process that must not produce detectable patterns of game elements or detectable dependency upon any previous game outcome, the amount wagered, or upon the style or method of play;

I guess the people we elect could make fake laws for us, but I hope I never have to be that cynical of the government.

If you are playing 8/5 Double Double Bonus or worse, Fuzbal, that is likely a bigger source of the problem. Also you're probably on a bad streak without a Royal. Randomness can really suck sometimes.

Welcome to the forum. I'm curious what specifically makes you think the casino have a "Big Brother" power?

well lets look at what we do know about this subject:   There is indeed a type of "centralized" control system for the machines in a casino, that is piped into the Cage or adjacent room, that alerts casino personnel to jackpots, requests for service and/or slot machine breakdowns and problems.   Anyobe ever press the service button or cocktail button on a machine?   They send an alert to some control room/console who then communicates with whomever.....of course, in AC these days, it is arguable if ANYONE is actually sitting there waiting or listening for such alerts, as I have pressed the service button and the cocktail button numerous times and waited a lonnnnnnnnng time before anyone showed up, moreoftenthan not I'd give up (unless it involved my waiting for a ticket in/out problem) While I remain at least partially convinced that there is in existence a way for a casino to "mess with" individual machines if it suits their nefarious purposes (even though we all know they are not supposed to, and I do believe the majority do NOT utilize the options and utilities that exist on typical VP machines), I am also 100% certain that such control or manipulation is highly unlikely (but again NOT impossible) at a centralized command center or on a MACRO level....there is just too much difference and disparity between individual machines (slot and VP), and such control would probably require a larger headcount to staff such a command center than casinos are willing to pay for these days.   So no, there is not some schmuck sitting at a console decding who wins or who loses on some machine that sits all the way across the other side of the casino....doesnt make sense from either a business or logistical perspective.

I actually think it's the cocktail waitresses. They have secretly devised a system to reward good tippers with bigger wins. If you give a lousy tip for your free drink, they go to the back where their command center is and send a message that goes out to all the other cocktail waitresses. Then if you are spotted at a machine in participating casinos, they trigger their wireless "cold streak" initiator (likely put in place by a programmer who was sleeping with a cocktail waitress back in 2007 when this all started). That gives you worse cards, making you and your poor tipping go elsewhere and making room for better tippers, who are similarly rewarded high payouts knowing a portion of those profits will be tipped back to the cocktail waitresses.

It makes financial sense and could be very profitable. It's low-risk, because it's just a cocktail waitress job.

LET'S SEE YOU PROVE THAT IT DOESN'T HAPPEN, AT LEAST IN SOME CASINOS!

I always thought of it as a "big dial" in the back room.  When the manager would come down saying "oh, not good"  someone would walk over to the "big dial" and turn it down.  You know, kind of like what we all do at home with the thermostat after we see the oil truck pulling out of the driveway. Based on everything I've come to learn (not feel) about the machines, the casino's the systems.  I do not believe they have the ability to control the machines from a centralized machine.  I'm sure everyone has had a look at my manifesto in another post and I hope soon to learn even more about the inner workings, but I'm really not expecting to find much.  Believe me, I will report back if there's any smoking gun, but really, I'm not expecting to find one.  I truely believe the casino's are more than happy to take their winnings based purely on the statistical outcomes presented by the pay tables.  Now, if Action Gaming has intituted something that in some way messes with pure statistical outcome, than that's another story.  What I'm getting at here is RNG seed manipulation.  I mean OMG these machines are streaky.  lets say that were aquiring a new seed so often that it somehow lowered the statistical probabilities of certain outcomes.  That would suck.  And there's no real way of finding that out unless you were able to look at the code. which is probably locked up tight.  But I'm not going to fret about these things. Now, If I were to reply to this post based on what I "feel" about playing VP.  I'd say, rigged, fixed, guy sitting upstairs laughting while I'm pouring my $$$ into the machine.  Kind of like the "fishing pole" commercial where the guy is dangling a dollar in front of the girl.  Laughing while looking through the smoked glass.  Sssucckkeerr...  Whew, almost had a seizure there.  Nuff said... Roveer

There are some trips to AC where I'm am certain that at Exit 2 on the NJ Turnpike my car breaks a beam that triggers a do not pay  message tro the machines I play. Or it could be subliminal.

If that were true, Bob Dancer would NEVER win, since he NEVER tips..
