DaBurglar, billy, Ted and mendon, T Y for your input. I could not figure out where to post this topic, either.   mendon, keep on telling that bad check story to help others. Most of our banking is on line and so far, so good. We no longer put outgoing mail in our mail box at night with that flag up. It can attract criminal activity. The post office or the official postal mail boxes are the only safe way to snail mail in the times of today.A prosecuting atty recently warned NOT to carry store discount tags on our key chains. IF we misplace our keys in public, someone may use those tags to get our address and gain access to our car, garage door opener and home! I quickly removed 15 tags from my key chain.HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! mendon. Win BIG at Little River and report back to us. Enjoy their pool, waterfall and also, the newspaper and apples that are at the registration desk early in the morning! MSU plays in the March Madness, SWEET 16 on Thurs at the Palace! GO GREEN!

I think I read an article about this and authorities were looking into possible redemption kiosk tampering by casino management. It may have been wide spread in Atlantic City but there was also a possibility that it was also reaching Native American casinos as well. If this is true then I see a story that maybe picked up by Dateline NBC.
I have lots more......about this time last year, in thr Tropicana AC, virtually ALL their cash/tix machines had this annoying trait of automatically spitting back your ticket the first time you inserted along with a message "see cashier cage"......now any of you familiar with the trop AC know that the cashier cage is now way the F*** on the north side of the casino, past the table games where almost NO machines are, so anyone looking to go to the cage must HIKE (literally) across the entire length of the floor!   Of course, if you are stubborn, like me, and inserted your ticket a second time (or third), the machine suddenly accepts it and out comes your money.   It was total BS....from about March 2012 until July, this went on, until one day it stopped and almost every machine accepted your ticket unless there was truly a problem or an amount issue. The AC casinos have lost (by now) since 2007 HALF (50%) of their revenue....they are indeed desperate....and all their so called "redevelopment commission" can come up with is .... "DO AC!"    wtf?    Oh, and open the Revel and siphon even more revenue off from the existing casinos (except Borgata, who are run by Vegas veterans who know what they are doing.) As to the story of check fraud, it is everywhere....identity theft is huge business, probably one of the reasons the US economy continues to limp along.....I pay in cash wherever and whenever I can, even going out of the way to do so.....

Burglar I'm guessing you don't live in Atlantic City, what part of the country do you call home? When you do call home do they ever answer or do they look at the caller i.d. first, see it's you and let the phone go right to voice mail?

Seriously Burglar we all get it by now, YOU HATE ATLANTIC CITY. Please can you start banging a new drum?

Casinos in Vegas typically cap the amount that can be redeemed in a ticket machine.  Usually $999 or $1199.  I don't even try anymore if it's > $1000.  I go to the cage.

K......Burglar's New Drum: Two months ago I went to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut....it was VERY DARK in this casino in most playing areas, and this was at 10 oclock in th emorning.....it was so dark in fact that when I left the casino I was blinded by the sunlight off the snow glare, so much so that I got a migraine.  I went to the hospital, the shot me full of something that turned me blue and sent me into a 97 minute coma....I came out of it with an INTENSE hatred of AC, so now I am suing Mohegam sun for f**cking up my Monthly jaunts to AC, as well as for turning half this forum against me because I turned into a malignant troll.  How's that for a new drumbeat?

Just an extra on the stolen checks.....last month I was paying an $850 bill and put the envelope into our mailbox outside with the flag straight up.  Later in the morning, upon returning from an errand, the flag was about 3/4's up.  So, I opened the box and the letter was gone.  The mailman arrived promptly just after noon and I asked him if he came by early.  No, he did not.  I called the bank on that Monday (that was a Saturday) to stop payment and I learned the check are cleared!  Fast!  But, the Bank was able to retrieve the cleared item before it was too late and I was ok.  This item was also washed, won't mention all the details.  We live in a gated place, so just goes to show it can happen anywhere, anytime.  This has been reported to the PO Inspector, but no results as to the culprit.  I even offered the PO to fax the a copy of the washed check to help them but no, the caller took the add'l info that it was available but no one has ever recalled to retrieve the check.  Maybe they got a copy from my bank, afterall.  My bank couldn't go after the depositer because apparently that bank will not disclose the info to them.  But the PO Inspector could.  Not happy about the state of things, just another reason why.  Sorry to divert.
