Re: First Royal of the Year!!!
ko king thats too bad about you missing the royal. I hope it wasn't one that paid an increased jackpot for hitting in sequential order, that would really have been tough to take. Oh well, go out and hit some now.
At one time we had a few machines in this area that paid extra but they're all gone now, believe it or not I hit another dealt $2 denomination royal today for $8K, that makes 2 dealt royals in a week and my third royal this month.

Congrats on the hit! Hopefully you didn't lose too much of it today. :(
Unfortunately, handing people their asses is what a 7/5 DDB machine is really designed to do. :( You should be able to find the same machine with super times pay at least, I would hope. That would make it a slightly better game to play %age wise. 8/5 and 9/5 DDB would be even better. I know 9/6 DDB doesn't exist there at the quarter level according to VPFree2.
For quarters, if 7/5 DDB is the best DDB they have, you really need to switch casinos, imo. Hell, I can play a video poker game (7/5 Super Aces Bonus w/$500 royal) that pays over 2% better at "Les Brothers Restaurant" in Oak Lawn, IL. It's sad for Hollywood Aurora when a random Chicagoland restaurant with 5 "video gaming" machines has a paytable better than they do. For Hollywood's sake, I'm hoping all their games aren't as bad as 7/5 DDB though.

Now I know where my royals have been going! Nice hits! Take pics of these so we can ooh and ahh at them.

i did notice the pay table after i played a few hands (it was an off to the side machine with about 40 different games on it), i was getting ready to jump off at $110 (last hand) when i hit the royal.
i did not go back to aurora though yesterday, went to Joliet. 8/6 DDB .25 and 9/6 dollar...

Yeah, those are better. 8/6 DDB really, and not 8/5 DDB? That's sorta a rare find, I've never seen a machine with that setup before. 9/5 DDB is usually what you'll find instead. 8/6 DDB technically pays 0.02% better than 9/5 DDB.
