Re: How to prove my 76% "DUD" Rate
You just love to cherry pick which of my points to respond to and when to ignore the issue in toto, you've been doing that ever since the day I showed up and you spent the first month responding to me under the absolute "brilliant" conclusion I was Mr Fa La La La La.... La la la la.
I never claimed you were Fa La La La La.... La la la la although you do tend to use the same kind of logic. If you choose to lie about simple things like this why should we believe anything you say?
Whoa whoa whoa.....lie??? wtf You honestly are going to accuse me of lying about you thinking I was Mr. Fa La La La La.... La la la la when I first showed up??? You really are going to deny that??? Well, hurry up and go back and find all your posts from 15 months ago and edit them before anyone else gives half a crap and decides to go see for themself who's right about this......man you are something else.
There is a big difference between claiming machines are rigged vs. someone posting their results. The fact you don't seem to understand this is quite interesting.
Once again, cherry picking and distorting.....I am claiming that VP in AC is very different than Nevada and/or other places, and by different I mean "bad" for the player. This may be due to the fact that casinos in AC are allowed to do things to their Video Poker games that Nevada cannot, or maybe they are in fact rigged. Still, you didnt answer my very simple and legit question, what are you looking for when you say post results? I have done this in the past, and for this issue at hand, I gave the total number of hands, time fram involved, rate of futility....what else do you need to see here? (and you totally skipped addressing my ripping to shreds your hang up with "anecdotal" posts....this will be a very dull forum indeed if we adhere to your advice on this...)
But PROOF, if you really truly want it, is here in AC, all you have to do is accompany me to the players booth and I will ask them to pull up my sh8tty stats and you can see for yourself. I am 100% serious. And you (or anyone else) can watch me play to satisfy your morbid curiosity that I dont suck....maybe I am just incredibly unlucky but I am not a bad player.
But I really do not think it is appropriate for you to insinuate I'm lying about anything when you havent even played in AC while I have spent years playing in all the markets I am concerned with and that I post and talk about.....
Silly, this has nothing to do with me.
This is about your claims of rigged machines. All I've been doing is trying to help you get past unprovable assertions and into evidence. It appears you resist doing that. Why is that? It doesn't help your case.
"Help me get past.....????" Since I do concede it is highly unlikely you will accept my invitation to AC, even if I throw in lunch, what "evidence" alternative will satisfy you here ....? I could care less about my "case" and instead, I want someone to explain to me why it is I have played VP in Nevada for 20 years and never ever had such horrible results even in a short term period as I have in the last year or so in AC....."unprovable assertions?" They are totally provable, but again, I dont care about that....I KNOW I got what I got, what I want to know is WHY??!?!!?
Update: I just got back from Resorts....machine #11-6907, I played 8/5 BP 25 cent.....I managed to lose 130 bucks in less than 30 minutes! My dud rate here was 59%, but I never caught anything better than a straight, and I did have a stretch of 18 hands in a row of duds, and a couple other streaks of 11 in a row, but I did have a streak of 15 out 18 payable (almost all were single pairs) hands to keep the OVERALL dud rate down. But again, horrible results altogether.....

I've lost more than that in a half hour on full pay machines in Vegas. It happens, more than I'd like. But the good sessions balance it out in the end.

Daburglar, I see that biggest reason you want to know WHY?! And you have right to know why! Wether its just bad luck, rigged,or the way AC slot machines are set up. Did you read about what that professer told me? Well you see what length I am willing to go to. If there is a out come to this I like to see and hear about it! Sam

Get some real, actual data. Post it. Not hard. If you want to go anywhere with this, start there and we can discuss looking at the same thing.
Posting about losing streaks mixed with winning streaks mixed with a series of dud hands only proves that... you are playing video poker.
The amount you lost in that timeframe is not the least bit surprising or suspicious.
Then people can give you some perspective on whether it's worth looking into. There are smart people here who you seem to think are your adversaries. With actual evidence, they could be your biggest advocates.
If you are right, you will make history. So take their advice on what makes good, reliable records that are useful in determining if the machines are not on the up and up. That is for your benefit! Stop bickering and actually listen.
Then if it's worth it you can do a test with witnesses and things will roll from there.

It appears DaBurglar actually tried to collect some data. Instead of his estimated dud rate of 75% (which would certainly indicate a rigged machine) he found a 59% rate which is just over the expected dud rate of around 55%.
This shows the importance of defining a test correctly and collecting all the data. One can only hope he learned something from this experience.

For the record, I have collected data, which seems to have been conveniently forgotten, and when I say I have played over 300K hands in 7 months and calculated 76% duds, that is what it is based on....for the last 50-60k hands of that 300K sample I just stopped logging actual detailed hand results (like if it was a fullhouse, a pair, flush etc) and just noted if it were a dud or payable.....less work and it was germane to my primary point, these machines are different than Nevada.
So here's even more proof that something MIGHT very well be up: I am still here in AC, and if anyone is familar with Caesars, they know about the bank of 6 progressive 9/6 JOB machines near the TOGA progressives....well these machines have a slow meter, it takes 10 dollars coin in (or 8 hands betting MAX coin) for the meter to go up 1 cent....as of 1pm today, May 10, 2013, the meter sits at $1,330 and climbing.....in my 4 years coming to AC I have never seen these machines get too far past 1,100 before the royal hits, one time I saw it reach 1,200.....MOST of the time, it reaches around 1050 to 1070 and someone hits it, which is exactly what you'd expect a machine to do.
If you do the calculations, the current jackpot of 1330 means that 261,600 hands have now been logged, and NO royal.....I have been here since Sunday, and these things have not been hit yet....I played them my first two days here when the jacpot stood at about 1100 and I already posted about that, I got my azz handed to me and the theoretical 99.52% return on these machines panned out to something like 90% for me....it was horrible.
So now, the machines are packed with weekend visitors who are aimlessly plugging away....when i started talking to a couple of them and pointed out the above math, they went, "ohhhhhh, that's interesting...." and kept plugging away, clearly they had little to no clue what I was really talking about.
This is all VERY easily verifiable for anyone who wants to call Caesars or check their website and look up progressives......but seriously, anyone surprised at 260K plus hands and no royal?? Of course it isnt impossible, but ......
Anyhow, before I leave AC tomorrow I am asking a Casino Manager at Trump a few questions (the only casino NOT so busy on a Friday that they have time to talk to someone like me)....a friend suggested I talk to this gentleman if I have questions about VP in AC, since he has experience in Vegas and Reno besides AC. My main question I want answered is: HOW ARE VP Machines DIfferent in AC versus Nevada? I'll report what I find out....

I told myself I wouldn't jump into this post, but there is an obvious explanation for Daburgler's results. I don't claim to be an expert, but anyone can see he's making mistakes. I've been playing for about 10 years. I use Dancer's software and train at least 15 hours a week (I have lots of time and nothing to do). I'm 66 and my eyes are not what they used to be. I just don't see the cards like I used to. It's easy to convince yourself that you are playing computer perfect, when you're not. My wife watches me play in the casino and she points out obvious errors to me all the time. I just don't see the damn cards like I used to.
Sorry, but it happens...

I'm looking for someone who has played in AC recently, and played a lot, to come forward with some substantial input to either support or counter my results as of late, and provide their own opinions and conclusions, even if they are ....."anecdotal" or based on anecdotal evidence. Can anyone out there provide this???
There is a current post on another forum, vpFREE, titled Amazing Happenings. It's about last weekends trip to Harrah's AC. In it, which starts with the comment "....continued run of good luck at Harrah's AC", the author mentions his $4000 royal, along with a multitude of quads, all on double double bonus. As well, there is mention of an $8000 royal by an acquaintance on another machine. And then, he notes that he observed another player hit four aces with a kicker on back to back hands on the same machine he had the royal on! All the luck in AC is not bad.
