LB's site is still active but it is moderated so I doubt Fa La La La La.... La la la la will try it. A recent post to vpfree sounded a lot like Fa La La La La.... La la la la under another alias.

Seriously, what is his motivation? I know a lot about the self-published book bizz and there isn't any money in it. He can't sell enough books to a very limited market (VP players) to make all of this hassle worth it. Is he in this for ego, or does he have another angle? I know at one time someone on this board suggested that he  "trains" people with their bankroll, while he takes the points. I met him some years ago in Laughlin, before I was suspicious of him, and he certainly wasn't winning anything, although of course, that was probably because I was watching. Ten minutes after I left he probably hit a Royal at $5000 denomination.

Seriously, what is his motivation? .

One can only surmise the motivation is pure EGO.

I am somebody, otherwise  why would they pay attention to me.

It could also be more than just points. It would be very simple for him to suggest "sharing" only if they win. It sounds reasonable as compensation for his expertise, especially if you believe there is anything to his system. It is also interesting that just about everything in his system is set up to promote this kind of activity.

Not sure what to make of him. He did say in a private message to shadowman, myself, and some other people that "He had mental problems that he can't comprehend". Right, Shadow??

You're right about the self-publishing business...maybe, respect?  Desperation?  Might simply be on the verge of having to return to work for a living (eek!), and all this stuff is a last push.  I know that if *I* had a magic system that REALLY worked, told people about it, and caught the flak he catches I'd eventually just shrug my shoulders, say "screw'em" and go my own way.

I haven't participated in online forums very long, and never even heard of him until about two years ago.  I was surprised to see his book was published in 2000.  Seems like he would have died from apoplexy or something a long ago if he's been this wound up since then.  That sounds like a facetious comment, but I'm serious.  Does he come and go in waves?

To me, "system" means something that can be readily duplicated or followed by others.  I thought it strange when I first read of his training sessions - he's got a lot of special plays, certainly too many to cover in a training session of a few hours - but if valuable info can be given over the course of just a few hours of training it wouldn't be too difficult to put at least THAT information down in black and white and eliminate the need for the training sessions.

No doubt about it. That's why it appears to me that the real purpose of the whole system (including special plays) is to promote the NEED for training sessions and some exchange of money during said session.

You are all correct. He is a genius due to his ability to spin tall tales and make it all sound true factual.
He is able to keep track of all of this in an organized manner which makes him appear to have a photographic memory, which he could well have I think. He has taken on an idenity and makes Fa La La La La.... La la la la a real person complete witha past history and family etc.
He most definitely has some medical and mental issues. I have known people that have such large mental capacities like him to go off the deep end and live in a fantasy world. Truth is his special plays will never make you a dime. They just swing for the fence each hand so the bankroll is gone in no time. I have seen him play and he lost it all. Given his poor lifestyle and mental condition I think he has probably come close to running his course and will be just a VP bad memory to VP players everywhere. Scam artist shine for awhile and then disappear very fast out of fear and necessity, due to being caught on to. Could be a good canidate for the pokey or other instituion.
Now I shall wax the vette and ride the scooter across the desert night with pockets full of $100 cushioning my boney butt.
