the mysterious random number generator

Post by kennybobby »

Just curious the thoughts on the lovely rng...If it is truly as the name implies, seems strange that 'everytime' you're dealt a fl or st8 draw, it comes with a pair for your amusement. The best is on dc--when dealt a junk hand incl 2 face cards and the dc is activated...say you have a J and K and the dc ends up being a K...you hold the pr of K's--feel free to make a side bet you'll see at least 1 hand w/ 2 J's in it.   I guess I'm not wise enough to understand random. Just wondered others views.
(I only have about 37000 other examples to bore folks with)

There are things that are just "Mysterys of Life"" The RNG is only one of those.

10 hand Dream Card. I got King Jack, and a Dream Card King. I held the Kings. Did not see a single pair (besides the kings) in any of the draw hands, much less a pair of Jacks. Can you explain better?

What I was trying to convey is that we worry to often about things we have no control over.  There are things we we must accept and move on. There are serious  programmers  that can't explain the RNG adequately , if you will, to us laymen
This is why you are the moderator.
I did get a black ace on the left-most card exactly 3 times, and a red six on the left-most card exactly 3 times as well. The odds of this are almost astronomical.Something must be wrong!!!!!!!This is why pointing out patterns is fairly useless without a modest understanding of how random events work. Every hand you play is unusual in some way because there are so many possibilities. And yet you can also find plenty of correlations within those random events to conceive of a pattern.
