Hello... I only play DDB poker...
I use Bob Dancers win poker software and the reason for the post is
this hand has never made any sence to me as far as why the program
says King,Ten,Four of clubs is the correct choice...
To me the Four of Clubs has no value what so ever on this particular hand...
is my software out of date...

The key is the number of flushes. Don't look at the raw numbers, look at the percentage of flushes. (45 out of 1081 vs. 118 out of 16,215)

Hey shadowman...Ok then...I could never make sence of the stradagy of keeping the 4 of clubs...
While I'm thinking about it...
Here is another that does not make sense to me...I know its all based on math but in
DDB the A's are huge...
Lets take this hand...
A of Hearts, J of Spades, Q of Dimonds, 3 of Clubs, 4 of Spades...
The correct pick according to the program is...J of Spades, Q of Dimonds
But to me the A of Hearts would be the best card to keep...
I cant tell you how many times I have hit quad A's holding one and have hit a few royal flushes keeping it also...Thanks...

I always attempt to play prefect strategy but I have a problem with one play in DB. I make the correct play but I don't like it. Qs Jh 10s. Unless the QJ is suited(and 10 is off suit)you always hold all three Q J 10....the 10 just seems to be wasted card to me!

QJ makes more straights, and more high pairs. Enough of both to outweigh the value of the Ace. The best play has to factor in ALL the possibilities. That's why it's useful to have computers to do it for us.

Very similar to the KT4 suited question. Straights are worth 5 for 1 in DB, and with QJT you can make a lot more straights than with just QJ off. I would struggle to remember both of these, fwiw.

Yeh guys the computer is a lot faster than we are...but I just hate to drop A's on DDB poker...LOL...thanks everyone for the information...
I'm starting to practice because were going to vegas in September...
I hate to practice but it has to be done to at 100% when we go...
I get a bit rusty between trips...Ha..Ha..!!!
The two hands we discussed are the only two I have problems with well as far as
the cards held go...Everything else in the tainer I can live with...Thanks again All...

Raner, if those are your only problems then you are in good shape. The difference in return for those holds will not reduce the return by more than .02% I would guess.

I HATE this hand. I believe there are several other like it. It's one of those hands that draws down my % of perfect play on my trainer and while I'm starting to get it as muscle memory, it still erks me every time I see it. There is another hand with is A and two other face cards that has you holding the face and dropping the ace (not suited). I hate those too. I think those are some of the only hands I can't get a hold on as they make no sense to me. I would have thought the possibility of RF would cause you to drop the flush potential, but guess not. I fear that these types of hands will keep me from ever being a 100% player. Of course, I'm known to miss a pair once and a while on my trainer. It's amazing how easy it is to become distracted when playing on an iPad at home. Just the screen size difference is enough to throw me off.

In your case you should be doing the opposite of Raner though. If you have KT suited, you should hold King only if you have another suited card. Major difference between 9/6 and 8/5 DDB.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to participated on this post...
Now I am going to open up a can of worms so don't kill me with
the correct way to play this few hands...LOL...
I use this on 9/6 and 10/6...Dollar...DDB that is all the wife and I play...
This is what I do the wife plays perfect strategy no matter what...
The last time I went to vegas was about a year ago, I practiced
till I could play 500 hands with no mistakes...So I told myself
I am good to go, I am ready now...
Well let me tell you the very first hand I got I went what the hell
what is the correct hold on this hand, Can't remember what it was but
was somthing like this:
A of Diamonds, J of Hearts, Q of Clubs , 9 of Diamonds, 8 of Clubs
I thought for a bit and went with the A of Diamonds...
But if the 9 of Diamonds is a 7 of Diamonds then the correct pick is
the Q of Clubs and the J of Hearts...
Well this always bugs the heck out me so I changed the rules to fit
my needs a bit, the less rules I have to remember the better when
I am having a few beers if you know what I mean..Ha..Ha..Ha..
So here it goes... I do this most of the time but change it up a bit
depending on a particular situation...
Whenever I draw an A with two unsuited face cards and 9 or below other two cards
I just hold the A...
Whenever I draw a four card stright that is missing a inside card with a pair
I keep the pair...With a consecutive card stright and a pair or 10's of less I
keep the Stright...
Whenever I draw a four card flush with a pair of 10's or less I keep the flush...
The picks are not 100% correct but I don't get a headache trying to remember all the
rules that apply to a particular hand...
The rest of the hands I do follow the rules...
I know it is not perfect strategy but it works for me...
Now for a side note What do you all think of the new games
like build a Wheel Video Poker, Wheel Poker, Deluxe Wheel Poker.
To me they ain't worth the extra money it takes to play them...
If I was going to try one it would be Deluxe Wheel Poker because it activates
When you draw three of a kind...
Built the wheel does the same thing but it takes a lot of extra money
to built the wheel with only one pull of the wheel after its built than
back to building it again...
Wheel Poker is tough because if only activates with Quads...
