Hi Marie, that's an awesome tip about swiping your finger over the dollar amount. I wonder how long it would have taken before I learned that, probably never.

I haven't run into the reinsert your card thing yet (that would annoy the heck out of me too), but I have a tendency to leave my card in the machine when I leave the machine. Luckily I've always remembered and was able to just go back to the machine and retrieve it, but I need to come up with a system/ routine for disengaging from a machine, like maybe always pulling out my card right after I cash out so it becomes automatic.

Thanks for the great tips!
seeing things through unindoctrinated eyes instead of being programmed by someone else's philosophy and strategy

What I can't seem to grasp is that if the game is completely random, and
what happened in the present or the past has no bearing on what will

relevant at all?
Hmm.  Sounds like a pretty familiar mantra.  Bon chance, "Jeff."

Jeff...
Have you checked VpFree2 site. If you have not do so.
It will give a lot of good information.
Since you have transportation it would be to your benefit
to check out all the Station casinos. Found this one in
a very quick search at Red Rock I like to play there I
have hit a bunch of royals at this casino. Hit two royals
on a Dollar machine two trips back in less than twenty minutes...Ha...Ha...
But that was mainly luck with a bit of skill from Bob Dancer's win poker program...
I like the palms but I am 61 and there are a bunch of
kids in there on the weekends...
There are a lot of Station casinos all over town.
Got off subject for a bit, Here are the machines I found
in the quick search...
100.17% DB
Double Bonus
1-1-3-5-7-10-50-80-160-50-800
(5) 25¢, 50¢, $1   1 Play Slant just inside entrance between poker room and Yard House Restaurant
(4) 25¢, 50¢, $1   1 Play Slant just inside entrance between buffet and Rocks Lounge
(4) 25¢, 50¢, $1   1 Play Slant just inside entrance between Terra Rossa and LBS Restaurants
(4) 25¢, 50¢, $1   1 Play Slant near movie theater
(6) 25¢, 50¢, $1   1 Play NS Slant just inside entrance from west valet between keno and bingo
(4) 25¢, 50¢, $1   1 Play Slant in front of cashier
As you came see this are 10/7 machines...
My game is DDB Dollar that is all I play makes it
real easy for me to play perfect strategy because when
you change games you have to change the strategy they all
play a bit different and some of them are a lot different
as far as the held cards to play correct strategy for the
particular game your on...

Hey Chista88, thanks for the heads up. Yes, I have VpFree2 bookmarked.

I'm going to explore other casinos, including Stations. I figure I'll go across the street to Gold Coast next though.

It's awesome that you were so detailed down to specific machines to play. Thanks for that.

I'm heading out to Palms again this morning; I'll give the JoB machines a go today if I can find them. VpFree2 says: near hotel registration; 4th row in front of Pearl Theater; near cashier. If these directions fail me I'll just ask someone.

Nice talking to you, and thanks again! Good luck!

Just a thought: why would a casino want someone who just drinks their liquor and takes their money?

NP...its amazing how easy it is to do stuff when using copy and paste...
LOL...Just messing with Dude...
The main reason you have to pick the best pay scale is this...Example...on a dollar machine 8/5 verses 10/6...
If you get 500 flushes and 500 Full Houses
on a 8/5...
You get 2500 dollars on the flush and 4000 dollars on Fulls
On a 10/6...
You get 3000 dollars on the flush and 5000 dollars on the Fulls.
Big difference on the return...you leave a lot of money on the table playing the wrong machine...this is just a crude example...Hope it clarifies the pay return a bit for you...

Hey guys, just got back from the Palms. No wonder I couldn't find the JoB machines! They're called "Game KIng Multi Denomination" with no Jacks or Better written on the machine at all, just the startup screen where you can choose which game you want to play.

Anyway, I put my first $20 in the 9/6 JoB game and the machine gobbled it up in like 2 minutes. All garbage, nothing, not even a push hand. Put the second $20 in and it gobbled that up until I had around 5 bucks left. Then I hit a couple FHs, a couple quads, and my second straight flush ever! Like the first one I wasn't even playing for a SF. I found myself up $80. I played a little while longer but ended up cashing out with a $70 win.

What was weird about this machine today was that it was either feast or famine: great hands and garbage hands. I played less than one hour.

So far I've played 5 days and had 3 break evens and two small winners.

It was sweet walking out of there with an extra 70 bucks in my pocket. It almost covered my grocery bill which is where I went after leaving the casino.

No drinks offered today either, but I was only there about an hour.

Jeff, welcome to our merry site. Lately my gambling strategy depends on the amount of time that I allocate toward playing. Yesterday I went to harrahs in Joliet, IL because they had a Diamond pick a gift promotion and I needed to take care of that. For those who are curious I chose a Vivitar handheld video recorder that is waterproof. I decided against going with the washer & dryer.

Anyway. After I got done with that I had some freeplay that I was going to take care of and I decided to throw a few extra bucks into the machine as well. I was still working on the freeplay and playing 5 hand Super Times Pay when I was dealt quad 7's. This gave me a nice little $312.50 payout, too bad there was no multiplier but I'm not complaining. At this point I was up a little more than $330.00 and I played a few more hands and then decided to leave up $315.00. Total playing time for this session was 25 minutes. I had some errands to run so I had to make it a short session but leaving up the way I did, makes leaving a short session very nice.

If I plan on devoting more time into a longer session then it normally lasts several hours and the machine swings can be just as you described. The moral of my story is not to get greedy and there is nothing wrong with having a short, prosperous, session where you are able to walk away with a profit that you are comfortable with.

Good Luck,

Ted

Exactly Ted, that 315 bucks you had was money in the bank. If you kept playing there's a good chance you could have lost some of it or all of it.

When to quit playing is a variable that you have complete control over, and the casino/ machine has no control over at all. This is a HUGE advantage to the player.

Of course, as far as I'm concerned, only time will tell how well I'm able to implement this strategy, and the bottom line will be the be all and end all. So far I'm 5 for 5. When I feel totally confident with this, rather than just very confident, I'll switch to a higher denomination, probably 50 cents, $2.50 per hand.

Congrats to you!
