Re: tdb aces with kicker.. held the kicker
Hey milmont, first of all, a big kudos for your correct TDB play. Maybe gutsy, but the right call. Second, where did you hit this monster? Third, I assume you took the pic after the jackpot was paid so the screen didn't have the "Call Attendant" notice on it?

I pay a lot of TDB, but I rarely hold a kicker. I know, from an EV standpoint, it is the correct play to hold the kicker, but that is because there is such a premium paid IF you catch that 4th ace. But my 1 in 47 draws yield terrible results.
I would rather take that 2 in 47 shot at the ace (800), and hopefully, draw another kicker to boot.

Even if it costs you $94 on average at the $5 credit level? That's significant bucks to me. Just move to DDB if you play this way, unless you have a better TDB paytable compared to DDB (rare, unless casino offers 9/7 TDB).

That much, huh? Well, I may alter my thinking...

Yep. Because holding the kicker is only a $16.49 mistake at 9/6 Double Double Bonus at the $5 level. So it's not that surprising that holding the kicker is a much bigger mistake at TDB since the kicker pays are significantly inflated.
TDB definitely takes balls. Thats why I dont typically play it.
<--- doesn't have balls, even though I am a man.
And also I struggle to find that TDB is the best game on any multi-game unit, and I typically like playing the best available game, even if it's a game that hates me (deuces).

Nice eggs (courage). I remember playing TDB hundred play, getting dealt three aces with a kicker. Saved them, and got...not one frickin quad lol Lost my taste for TDB after that one, but sweet hit.Courage points for playing 8/5 TDB as well, (96% return?), variance thru the roof. Probably made the hit twice as sweet.
