Uncharacteristic for me, but this time it worked..

Did you hit any jackpots? Did you get a great comp? We all want to know!

So I went down to Harrah's Friday night to collect my Fri/Sat freeplay. In a period of 7-8 minutes I was able to run it up to 2,550 bucks. Not sure if I had played all my freeplay through the machine I hit cash out. It read 0, so I grabbed my ticket and headed to the cashier. Out the door I went. So unlike me, but I I'm always trying new things. That was about a 3x increase based on my starting bankroll. Normally I would keep going until it was significantly lower.

The one thing about non-overnight trips, especially the quick in-out ones that I've been doing is that it's very easy to say, that's enough, and get out. If I know I'm there for the night, than I'm going to keep playing. Now if I can just get it to happen a few more times it will really start to add up. It's nice to leave way ahead and not feel like I want more.

Good discipline. The obvious "problem", though, is that if you continue to do that, you will get less and less FreePlay..

Yes, but I've gotten about as much from Harrah's as I can at this point. I achieved L3 7* for next year and am pretty far away from L4 so no sense in shooting for that. Their Promo's seems to run for a month or 2 so I'll drain that out and then the year will reset. I will have to face the diminished FP but for many many reasons It's time to ramp down from my previous levels of play. Still very happy with my results from last night. Taking the family to NYC tonight and now have lots of guiltless $$$ to spend. That was my goal and for once, that's what happened. Normally I'd take the amount I had won and cut it in half or worse, so having a goal and then being lucky enough to satisfy it and walk away makes me happy. Oh, it took all of 7 minutes to achieve... Sure beats the 15 hour sessions. It sure felt nice as I walked by "slappy" and "mrs. slappy" on my way to the door. They make it very difficult to play, but then again, Friday night is their night. Sunday night is mine. I also saw the professor sitting at his regular machine as well. Funny how you know the regulars.

roveer that's what I do. I'll play out the freeplay in a short session and cash out a little ticket. I do this over the course of 6-8 weeks and save up the money. I will then go back for an extended session starting with a bigger bankroll as I use the money I saved up from the "quick hitters." Many times I have sat down at a machine with my freeplay and cashed out 10 to 15 minutes later, discipline.

As you know, freeplay is solely used as a hook by the casino to seperate us from our money and as the line goes from the movie "Casino": keep them playing for as long as you can and eventually the house will get it all. I stopped getting caught up in the free play, promo cash, or whatever, and I just play when I want to and not when (or how) the casinos want me to.

roveer, You got the right idea, this time hit and run, can tell from your post, they(casino) have hit you more times, and this time family get some fun. Sounds good to me. Enjoy! Sam

I think we need a bag man, wife, or girl friend to give cashout tickets and money too and not give it back until home. lol....anyway, good going...toughest thing to do...I know...is to walk away...feels great later though. I bet we are ahead at some point 90% of the time.

The simplest thing is, when you have serious girlfriend, just give her the house. She will get it anyway, and it saves attorney fees.

Depending on the game, you are usually ahead at some point >90% of the time (if you always quit with any net win). Of course if you did that, that would be boring as well!

I was ahead today at a couple points I believe. But I still ended a small loser. What hurt the most is that Blue Chip in Indiana got rid of 9/6 JoB w/STP for quarters (I was warned by VPFree2 a few weeks earlier).    Best game now is 98.91% DW44 that I saw.
