Thanks Sam. Wrote down Julie J. I will ask for her another time. Glad I got a chuckle out of you anyway. Most of us had jobs we didn't like to do especially, but a job was a job not like today. 50 years ago I washed down trucks on the assembly line with thinner before they went to the paint booth. Passed out sometimes from fumes. Great job though. 2.30/hour was double my other job of crawling under porches with the spiders to help jack up the floor or spreading tar down on a flat roof in heat of 120 degrees. We did what we had to do and didn't complain. Different generation now. I guess I have to post something video poker related. Foxwoods is still matching other casino offers so I hope to make a stop there sometime this weekend. Since it is Columbus Day weekend, I couldn't get a room for Sun. at Mohegan either. Should ease up soon though at both places. Stay well.........

olds442jetaway, Yes my fathers best friend(deceased late1990s)owned body shop, paint shop and we would go over with him and the fumes inside that shop, wow bad, the last ten or fifteen tears of his life they started using mask with air filters(you lucky) but damage had been done.Yes grow up on farm and did work and mom owned business I ran when I was 15. Yes to the new generation. I think me decade or more younger than you, this was in early 70s to mid. I was a kid. Oh yea! I didn't know how to play video poker back then, played go fish. (lol) Hmmmm? When did video poker come out? Or did they have it on mechanical machines? Never really investigated this you know? Poker look into it(alittle) each/country has little different version going back hundred & two hundred plus years ago. I have called Foxwoods every day for over week(seeing if anybody cancelled near end of the month no luck) trying to get second night free room.Take care Sam

Made a little side trip to Foxwoods early AM today to take advantage of their offer of matching Mohegan. They matched my 25 free play no problem. I saw Paula in the players booth in Pequot. Very nice Redhead and grandmother. Knows her stuff. Got lucky for a short time. Playing 100 play pennies Deuces Wild 5 cents per line. Was up to 55 lines using my usual Martingale Clone method. Dealt 4 deuces so caught them on all 55 lines for 550- bucks. Good ending at Foxwoods, but not so at Mohegan. Played it all back at Mohegan by noon on quarters Deuces. Never caught them there. I know dummy me....should have pocketed 450- and played with 100. Have a good safe weekend and take care. Foxwoods cleaning people still somehow found me and nobody else..lol...not too bad this time though.

Just like in every occupation, there are casino employees who are well-trained and respectful of the customers and others who don't have the training or the dedication to doing a good job. I try to thank those who are respectful and ask before interfering with my play. There are others who don't.

Since we are regulars at a small casino we recognize most of the staff. If a new person doesn't show the appropriate training I usually politely ask them to cease and/or speak to a supervisor. As a retired supervisor of over 80+ staff, I always told parents, "if you don't tell me about a problem, I can't address it." I have rarely found a supervisor who didn't understand that the public's perception is crucial to success for their organization.

I also believe that every person deserves respect and to be treated with dignity.

I agree with thanking those for good service including those who ask "are you through with this glass". A friendly smile goes a long way to help someone get through the day and might be contagious! How I wish wait peeps everywhere were instructed NOT to handle my glass by the top when en route to me, after handling everyone else's used glasses!

Larry, You are absolutely correct in your two paragraphs, Like you I have been Manager, Asst. Manager, Supervisor, Forman, also Self employed Boss of self employed people this one can be fun.(lol)I also cleaned toilets!! (lol) I was the kind that would listen to people and all people have some good idea/ or something to offer, others well that another story. They run a commercial out here east coast (think) Harrah Casino they show all aspects of the casino employees Vice Pesident?, Managers, Slot techs., Security, Dealers/Table games, I even think cleaning workers, but there basic pitch, is they want you to play safe, don't get to drunk, and don't gamble with what cant afford to lose, and no underage gamblers,ect.ect. Cant remember all but they want you leave having had fun!!! Basically you are parting with your money and we don't want to be upset, we want you to have fun even losing your money. And it is hard to find good(maybe not the word) people sometimes but when you do hold onto them,(because when this person becomes boss they can pass these good traits onto new workers) they are worth there wieght in gold. I guess I don't want train grow adults any more, that's there job! This is only my option. And may not be yours/ correct.(lol) Trust me when I get good services I go over board with tipping(wife get little mad sometimes(lol)$5 tip for two glass of diet coke. Even if I winning or losing. Marie Meijer I agree with you, At Foxwoods they have like 5 or 6? casino in same place and they do it little different in each casino. When you talked about handling dirty glass then handling yours.Yuck! I can tell MGM casino waitress gives you glass drink with new napkin rap around glass, which you can take off after she give it to you, I give good tip there. In some ways we all have some option on how something's should be done. Sam

I've come across this on a few occasions.  In the row of uprights I play there is deep spaces between the machines and one particular cleaning person comes diving right in, grabbing my unfinished drinks, smokes, etc.  One time I got a little testy with her, but have come to deal with it.  I always look to put random gaps into my play so I use these opportunities to allow that to happen.  I do however feel like I'm defending my fort when they are grabbing at all of my stuff. Roveer

My pet peeve as well. Bus people handling the tops of your new glass. Happens at diners too. The worst is diner or casino bus people setting up your place setting and handling the silverware at the wrong end. Trying not to complain here, but we sure weren't brought up that way.

rover, I fit into that similar category, like I am paying for this spot/fort yes!(lol) Please don't bother me. Or where going to send out the artillery.(lol) olds442jetaway, yes we/wife see this happen then we clean them with napkins, not off to good start for bigger tip. Once we left restraunt (this worst thing I seen happen) one of the cooks came out stalls(In bathroom) I was washing my hand he walk right by me, did not wash hands, I walk right behind him saw him go into kitchen see through wall and start cooking, told wife we got up and walk out, gross. I thought about tell manager but they might have thought I was peeping tom in bathroom, we have not gone back there. Takes less ten seconds to wash hands. Gross! olds442jetaway, hope my post(up above) put on Oct.13 12:52am didn't go overboard. Meant to be humorous. Sam
