My 9 year Royal Flushless streak continues
Spent a great weekend ay Horseshoe Southern Indiana. Nice place and good pay tables to be found, if you look. Probably played 12 to 14 hours total and mostly played $5 9/6 JOB and some 9/7 Double Bonus. Unfortunately not much luck to speak of. I know Royal's are unpredictable and there is some luck to be had but I am beginning to think I am never going to hit another one. I live near a casino and go once or twice a month. I hit my last one there on Nov. 5 2004. I remember that because I got married on the 6th. I realize the next push of the button can change the drought quickly but it is very frustrating. Anyone else get in a funk?

I always seem to score with at least one RF per trip, but I play a lot of multi-line games . Single line is tough.
Just to break you out of your funk, maybe you should try and change up to a 5-way, $1 denom, which would be the same $25 a pull as single line $5.

Let's see. This is all round numbers of course. 13 hours x 600 hands/hr x 18 trips a year x 9 years = 1,263,600 hands divided by 40,000 hands per average Royal = 31.59 Royals. Which is what you should have had.
For some reason reason, I am still averaging 1 every 120,000 hands since the fall of 2010. I play about 18,000 hands a week so mine breaks down to 18,000 x 50 weeks appx x 3 years = 2,700,000 hands divided by 40,000 hands = 67.5 Royals I should have had. However, I only hit 22.
This seems to be happening to more people than I can count in the last 3 years. What I don't know is how many players are hitting much more frequently than the average.

I second Billyjoes advice. JOB gives you a slight edge in your pursuit of a royal flush. Good luck in bringing this streak to an end.

Hivoltage, I have gone 2 1/2 years(Aprox.) without one before, I was going(about) once to twice a month and can play on single line anywhere from 5000+ to 8000+ hands my time there. And yes does get sad/depressing/mad ect.ect.(lol) that can not get one. But like you said they don't come along to often. Your streak seems excessive. Then I got one (RF) and then 2 or 3 month later got a dealt RF had been ten years or better cents last dealt RF. Some people have played VP and never been dealt RF so in some ways me lucky, but during that 2 1/2 years without any(RF). Ouch! Sometimes hard to out ride the storm or lack of RF, and with more play and numbers in your favor and through in some luck they will come. Good luck. Sam

I've been fortunate to average 1/43K playing 5 line nickel denom. I hit enough boats and flushes to keep playing with $60 or less playing limit. Good luck breaking your streak and yes, Billyjoe is correct in maybe trying multiline play.

I would try multiline too just to break the ice. Granted it is not the same as hitting on a single line, but still nice neverthless when it hits. You might even get lucky like I did one time. Dealt one on 3 cent spin poker with 12 lines. Paid $ 1,440 even on that 3 cent game. Good luck. In the calculations I did, I only counted single line games. Multi line is only about 10% of my play.

Thanks for all the replies. I know it seems excessive and like a long time between them but I remember the day to the T. Even hit it in spades. As for the math, when I am home at my local casino they are nowhere near the long hours I put in while at Horseshoe. I wish I knew the number of hands I actually played. My local has no multi line games available. I did play some at the Shoe but obviously not enough to offset my issue. It will come again just sucks a bit till it does.

Same here I used to average around 18-22. I play about 1m+ hands a year. Past 3 years I been average about 8-12.

i've had a dry streak for 3 or 4 years of very limited play - no royals in maybe 160,000 hands. During the last 59 days I have played about 36000 hands and have hit 4 Royals , including a Sequential Dealt Royal (AKQJ10) in hearts.
